Better, and still busy.

Well, stuff is slightly happier in the house.  It's funny how teen angst just blows away like dandelion fluff.  Wait 24 hours & most things seem to resolve themselves, affirming my thinking that most teen woe is way overblown.

Meanwhile, still working like a crazed christmas elf.  I finished these last night.   Copper & Black dragon heads...

& yep, they're up on Etsy already, of course.  I'm experimenting with the eyes; usually I use green but I just kept picking up the bag of turquoise glass beads...I couldn't resist.  What IS it with me & turquoise/brown combinations this year?   I've always liked it but I'm totally drawn to it these days.  It's becoming my "thing".  *shrug*

lol...last night I was saying how much I want/need an i-Pod Nano (I'm using a first gen Shuffle...it holds about half the songs on my list plus it is getting old & quirky).
Greg:  "What color do you want?"
Me:  "I dunno...aqua?  The red one?"
Greg:  "And what if you've been naughty?"
Me:  "Santa can give me a coal-black one."

It occurs to me that "naughty" is a relative term.  It'll be interesting to see what color Santa brings me.  The Apple Store Online is shipping & engraving free, by the way.  :::BIG FAT HINT:::

So here's my house with the Christmas lights & a little bit of snow.

My shrubbery...it's twinkling!  Merry Smurfing X-mas.

I think we ought to have an entire entry dedicated to our holiday decorations...what do you think?  [profile] golden_meliades, I know you don't do holidays but you DO live in an awfully pretty, snowy place.  We could call it a seasonal picture celebration.

I think maybe in a couple of weeks, I'll post a "Seasonal Pictures" entry & we can all share pics of whatever...Plastic Fantastic trees or holiday villages or whatever gets you guys in the mood for the season.  I want to see what everyone is doing for the holidays.  :-)

It gets over 100, but people still bike. There are shaded bike trails if you don't like the sun- the main thing is to keep hydrated. Although when it gets over 110 it's usually best to stay inside. I can take it up to about 96-97 but after that I can hardly survive walking from my car to the nearest air-conditioned venue.

I love watching a blue norther come in but I hate when they get here. The temp can drop 60 degrees in 15 minutes and it always comes with ice cold rain and sleet. We hardly ever get snow, just these freezing storms. But they are generally confined to January and February, which is good.

Where ARE you? 15 F is the coldest it gets where you are? Jeez it'd suck to miss out on winter completely but I envy people who get consistent sun year round...SO VITAL TO A GOOD MOOD. My dad and I, and one of my sisters, all get SAD to varying degrees.

I'm in Texas, luffly!! It can get close to 0 F, but that's rare. You'd enjoy the sun but you wouldn't be able to have such lovely gardens here! By June lawns and pastures are toast. You'd have to zeroscape or do all natives. But the grass would still be toast.

My mom has SAD. When it clouds over you can be sure every light in her area is on. It's a rough thing to have. *huggles you all*
