I love good old cowboy boots too. I used to ride a LOT and I always wore these awesome old scuffed-up brown cowboy boots. They were like wearing nothing at all...the heel was JUST right for walking or riding or running or just about anything. I killed them by getting them wet on a camping trip & propping them by the campfire like I'd done a hundred times, 'cept I forgot about them & the fire TOASTED them to a crisp. I cried for a week.

Hard to find good cowboy boots. They are all pretty & embellished but not so practical, these days.
