Oh god, just watching the news recaps made me think of Ruffian all over again, she really is my favorite hoss of all time. WOE. I can't get over what a wonderball she could have been. (psst, I think you meant 120, up there, right?) I'm wondering about the scale weights they used in the 70's for her, because even though she carried 121, Foolish Pleasure carried 126, and she was much more massive than him; I think he was 15.3 to her 16.2 and she had the bigger numbers all around, heavier, taller, longer and broader, but her feet were a full shoe size smaller. That combined with they way she ran...ugh, it really was inevitable. Frank, why didn't you push harder against the match? Well, 20/20 hindsight for the Locust Farm crew, and I'm sure they all felt wretched. They better send Barbaro out to live in cushy retirement if they save him.
