I cried when I saw the footage of this race too. The good news they did save the horse. 23 screws in his leg says to me he'll not racing again. But being a derby winner ensures his sperm is worth keepong him alive. Of course that makes me sad when I think of all the horses they ruin who haven't proved themselves enough to make them worth it financially to save. Horse racing and dog racing both have a lot of crimes that go unamswered for IMO. :-/
