YAY, THINGY! And I'm glad that you got your envelope so quickly, once I actually dragged my sorry ass out to mail it. And I'm very glad you like the rose! May I ask what the thingy you're working on is, or should it be a surprise? ;)

Also, the WV-roadkill bit reminds me of a poem which I will have to post in a little bit, as soon as I can catch up on a few other things and go grab the book...

Isn't it funny the long memories those dogs can have? My old mal once got nipped on the nose by a miniature dachshund, and for WEEKS afterwards he would try to oh-so-subtly steer me to the other side of the street if he saw a weiner dog approaching. Mind you, this is the same dog who showed an even LONGER memory for any locations where he found some particularly tasty bit of garbage, and insisted on checking a favorite neighbor's door every time we walked by, just in case she was going to open it and invite him in again...so the long memory seemed par for the course. What really freaked me out was when "his" cat, who has never shown herself to be particularly bright, greeted a visiting friend's elderly mal bitch as if she were a long-lost friend. This from a cat who would alternately spit and hide at the sight of ANY other non-household dog, even ones she'd seen dozens of times before; Elsa wasn't the same size or same color as my Jake, but I guess her shape and mannerisms were close enough for the sledkitty to accept her as almost the right dog...even though she didn't even meet the old lady until several years after Jake's death.

Speaking of which, this thread is USELESS without additional pictures of Kiba. It's like Sibe-Potato-Chip-Syndrome by proxy -- one just isn't enough! ;)
