I have decided to make my dragon barrettes for Etsy.

They look like this up close...


And while I was at it, I finished not one but three koi masks.  Only took pictures of the first one though.

Of course it's all up in my shop already.  Can't wait to see how the dragons do.  Those are wildly popular at conventions & events.

In other news, I am really, hopelessly a girl scout.  Really.  I just can't leave things alone.   I don't know what the heck it is with me...it must be some special kind of arrogance.  I'm not going into it yet...don't want to jinx things.  I ran it all past  shvetufae so y'know...she's got a pretty level head on her shoulders & I trust her opinion.

I think this is why I like Kagome so much in Inuyasha...she has this special kind of "can't leave it alone gotta fix it" attitude that I sort of understand.  Of course that makes us both insufferable optimists.  We'll both pay in the end, I bet.  No good deed goes unpunished...isn't that the saying?

Still!  Love is in the mail!  That makes me happy.  I can't wait to see what golden_meliades thinks of her "Friends' Day" gifts.  I really did a good job this year I think.  :::pleased:::

First day of Spring and it is SNOWING!  Why???

Also, my freaking virtual dragon DIED.  I am an unfit virtual dragon mother.

Yeah. I'm transparent. Just...can't let it go. If you KNOW someone is in trouble, doesn't that obligate you to at least try to do something? Even if they are a pain in the ass?

Thanks! Those barrettes are a staple at my convention-type shows. I just can't make enough of them. I have three more colors to list on Etsy (four, if my damn quart of purple dye GETS here already!).

Ugh! This winter is not for the faint of heart. HAD it with the cold & the blowing & the snow. Just walking to the mailbox was pure torture.

Your new entries are gorgeous--I love the new version of the koi, with the blue background and bubbles. I particularly like this one, with the bubbles across the nose--I'm not sure exactly why but that really appeals to me. kind of like bubbly freckles, or something.

I hope that you don't end up getting disappointed if your help doesn't turn out well. He sounded like such an angry, bitter man--you can't help some people. But maybe it will make a difference. Fingers crossed.

Well, the whole thing has been disappointing already so it really can't get worse. Right now I'm just worried. If something stays on my mind for three weeks & nags at me to the point where it gets distracting, then it's obviously something I just can't let go.

Thank you! I think, with a blue background I have more options for dramatically-colored koi. Before, I'd shy away from koi with lots of black spots 'cause it'd disappear into the field color of the mask.

My heart has been broken. All I have is a dragon tombstone and memories. *sniffle* Your blue one grew up pretty, by the way. It's NOT fair...I actually had more individual, exclusive hits...just less overall views. I guess that was the trick to it. :-/

Thank you...the eyes ARE cute aren't they? A little big & Disney but I think that makes them adorable.

I love koi...I really should have a pond full of them but with the skunks & racoons & other predators around here I wouldn't give them half a chance.
