Back to making pretty things...

Today is TOO BEAUTIFUL to ruin with stupid AOL's dumb cesspool of bigotry...I am avoiding the news comments like they were poison.  And they are.

So today, instead of righteous indignation I will share with you...new mask pictures!

I just finished a new Golden Wolf.

This is my third Golden Wolf.  I left the background color brown, instead of drybrushing gold over it.  In fact I mixed some black & red with the stain to make it a very rich brown, because I wanted more contrast between the base mask color & the gold flames.

I like it better than the paler versions, but we shall see how it does.  It's up in Etsy already.

In other news, I have one gorgeous day out there today!  60 and sunny and NO wind.  So, I'm going for two bike rides...yes two!  It'll probably hurt.  I'm out of shape.  I did fifteen miles yesterday and by the end of it, I wasn't very...chipper.  But hey...this is how my season always starts.  By August I'll be back up to 30 miles with no problem.  ^_^

So I better get running...er, cycling!  *hug*  Love you all!

We have similar weather here, but it's windy as heck.

Your masks, as always, are beautiful.

Thank you!

It's windy on & off here too. Once the ice is all gone from the lake, things will stabilize & be just lovely. I gotta say, Western New York is GORGEOUS in the spring/summer/fall (it has to be to make up for winter).

I went for my first ride today though it was only 40F (sunny, though). Unfortunately it is basically ALWAYS fairly windy, here. The least windy time is usually in the middle of the night, sometimes as late as eight or nine in the morning. (WHYYYYY? Why does it have to be calm when everyone is ASLEEP and can't take advantage?)

I find even a little wind makes a huge difference in a ride. Under 6mph and it feels like nothing but over that and you start to feel it shoving you back. (My road bike is very unstable in comparison to a hyrbrid, it's so very thin and flighty. Ghost really is the perfect name for the little bastard...though I guess I do love him after all.)

I really, really want a bunch of days with no wind or rain this summer. I really do. We have almost no perfect biking days, here.

Oooo 40 is too cold! :-( It really has to be at least 45 and sunny for me, & then I get all bundled up 'cause when you cycle you create your own wind chill. No fun.

Wind makes things just awful. I'd rather go up a hill than deal with wind. Over 25 MPH and I just can't handle it (though I DO have some great, thickly forested trails that I'll use on really windy days that are bearable).

Actually with your roadbike you create a lower profile & the bikes themselves are lighter, so for your windy conditions that's probably the perfect bike for you. You'll see when you ride one of my hybrids...there's a big difference.

I'm really excited about your visit!! You're going to LOVE my trails...they are so pretty. Really, this area has so many. Even if you stay for a week & we do two a day, we can't do them all. I'm going to just have to pick the prettiest ones.

*ignores the AOL idocy as well*

It is perfect walking weather indeed! Walked all the way through boston to the aquarium to get gelato and watch the seals play, then back home. Oh spring, welcome back.

More importantly, though, this guys is gorgeous! I think I like him a bit mire than the earlier one as well, probably because of how strong and rich the colors are *nodnod* Etsy is gonna eat it up, fo sho

Oh that sounds heavenly! I haven't seen Boston in over...wow 25 years! But I remember it as a lovely, busy city full of art & fun things to see.

Glad you like the wolf! I like him too, though he's not getting much love on Etsy yet. It's been uncommonly quiet there for the last couple of days...hmm...

Heh, I just responded to your post about the AOL mess. :(

The wolf is lovely. It's hard to tell sometimes from pictures, but I think I like it better than the earlier ones.

The weather here has been just gorgeous, though I haven't been able to enjoy it much. But even though I've spent most of the day inside, it's still nice to see some sun!

AOL...it's a hate/hate relationship right now. If I didn't have my e-mail address so widely circulated I'd drop it entirely.

Glad you like the wolf...I've wanted to make golden wolves for a long time. If I was still doing Pennsic I'd have to bring about 10 of these I bet.

It was SO lovely here today. But OMG snow by the weekend & more next week! :-( The only good thing about crazy Spring weather are the pretty spring thunderstorms.

I love how the wolf kind of looks like it's made of smoke and it going to disapper.

Also: I need to get a bike. XD Though I do plan to do more hiking. I just need...a few items.

Greg says it looks like a hot rod wolf that is going very fast! ;-)

Oh! I got the CDs yesterday...thanks so much! The Corrs CD is especially adorable & full of such happy-sounding music...it's my new favorite car CD. :-)

I have to ask; favorite colors are purple & blue right? If I'm wrong, just let me know.

Oh I like all colors. Green is another one too. ^_^ I'm happy with anything really. Glad you like the cds!
