Okami finally got here today!   I am in a hundred different kinds of love with this video game. :-)

First of all it's made by the same folks who did "The Legend Of Zelda: Windwaker", which is one of my favorite adventure platform games. This one is even neater than that.  I'm the Japanese god Amaterasu diguised as a white wolf and I'm running around restoring life to the land with the power of...get this...ART. Holy crap was there ever a game more suited for me? I think not.

And!  It's SO PRETTY.  And the wolf is adorable and behaves in many ways like my Kiba...she even looks like him and sort of whuffles and snorts like him and runs like him...it's just TOO MUCH.     

I've been playing for hours and apparently I've only just started.  Just finished the part with the Konohana Shuffle which only stumped me for about 15 minutes (but it was so frustrating!!)...fortunately I'd been warned about that part.  Still though...!  Grr!  But OMG I love this game to little bits.  Anyone who loves wolves, art, and Japanese culture MUST get this game.  It's a hoot.

And I am SO making an Amaterasu mask.  :-)  Oh yes.  *nodnod*

My own "wolf pup" Kiba (heh...okay so he's a husky...but you know that I love his wolfy looks) and I have been going for long walks on Grand Island lately.  Because of my health problems I haven't been able to go for my long bike rides, which sucks but 15 to 20 miles on a bike just hurts too much right now *pout*.  Still, we have a big park with a lovely sandy beach on Grand Island and now that summer's over the place is pretty much deserted, so Keebs and I have been hitting it pretty regularly.  He LOVES the beach.  He runs wild around me in big circles and scares all the gulls and snuffles sand up his nose and generally has a wonderful time.   Even if I can't ride my bike, it lifts my mood to see him pelting across the sand like a wild thing.  

It's just as well that I can't ride right now...the trails are dangerous.   There's a serial rapist/murderer who's been stalking the bike paths that I love (and use regularly) for the last ten years or so...and he seems to be on an upswing again.  He killed some poor woman just last weekend on one of the trails, and it's just another good reason for me to keep the Kibinator close by for now.  Scary stuff.

I definitely want to see that mask. I'm playing the game as a rental, and I think I have the only copy from Blockbuster.

That's scary about the bike path guy, be sure to keep wolfy close. I wish we had a Detect evil spell for real

Also, I hate Waka, just getting that out there. You'll understand why later.

I. Am. In so much trouble. That game has sucked my right the hell in. All I'm doin' is sleeping and playing Okami. *sigh*

So far I like Waka because he's a pretty boy and he's messin' with my head. And he flirts. He just screwed me by locking me in the moon cave though so... *shrug* ;-)

Yikes...that's really freaking scary about the bike paths.... Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that you can't ride right now.

Heh....ahh, if only I had time for video games right now...Well, I could probably make time, but then I couldn't feed my own artistic obsessions... XD

Yeah, the bike path thing is troubling. :-( It's always in the back of my mind when I ride...this guy has been up to no good for a long long time. Nothing will happen for a year or two and then he starts up again. There are little memorials all over the trails for the women he killed...it creeps me out every time I go past one.

OMG I don't have the time for this game either...it's just totally sucked me in! :-) I've been waiting for it for over a year now.

I have wanted that game since I first read about it in EGM. It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pretty and tehre are so many random things you can do. I am a thousand times jealous. :P

Eep. That's scary. I'm a little unnerved by the fact that my school's right next to a men's institution, but at leat all of THEM are behind bars. Scaaaary <_< ...and you know...it JUST dawned on me that you said you'll be going to SF. Which is only about 3-4 hours from me. I may have to stalk you ^______^

The game is so cool...you should at least rent it so you'll understand what all the fuss is about! :-)

Yeah, I'm in SF in November...not too sure of the dates but it'll be right around Thanksgiving. It'd be great if we could get together.

I don't know why I never think about actually renting the games. I guess it's cuz you CAN'T back home. But here you can, so yay! I think I'll do that. Because the shiney is, well...shiney :P

SQUEE! This is exciting! We'll have to hammer out the details later and exchange numbers and choose a meeting place and be all, "I'll be in the red hat" and "Oh well I'll be the one with the blue bookmark" and then we can go terrorize the rest of California and it will be AWESOME! (Though I must warn you: I really AM as bouncy and strange in person as I am here :P)

Agh! I know! But it was SO worth the wait because the game is incredible and I am SO SCREWED and I have NO LIFE. Seriously! I got Okami on, what, Thursday? I've already done over 20 hours...20 hours! How am I ever going to have time for my work? Or sleep? Heh... ;-)

The mask is going to be SO cool because I have a great idea to encorporate those wing-looking swirly bits on her shoulders into the face of the mask...and those red lines will be so dramatic right around the eyes.

Oh NICE. I was wondering if you would because they look so cool on screen, y'know? You shoudl totally get ideas from Nuregami ( I think it is at least) the sea serpent god, because I think he has them on his face...plus he's really cute ^_^

Also, would you think it's wrong that I drew Waka as a really hot, albeit smug as hell, Shinto preist?

OMG I must see!! I have to tell you, I ~like~ Waka...I think he's cool. And I love the freaky wing/hat thingy he wears. Did you notice his headdress uses that white-tipped-with-red color scheme that works so well for Sesshoumaru? I wonder though...it looks like he has blond hair doesn't it? That's not very Japanese (though Kaguya has blond hair too so *shrug*.)

I'm not nuts about all the French he keeps speaking. I wonder if they do that because in the Japanese version he uses ultra-polite forms when he's flirting? *sigh* So much gets mangled in translation.

Yeah, those lost in translation thing is weird, but it's cute when he says 'ma cherie' at least. (Haha, he just made me cranky cause he kicked my ass all over the screen, but afterwards I forgave him because he was so cool X3)

And he DOES have blonde hair, the white wings are just part of a really really cool hat. *sigh* You're so right about the red and white Sesshoumaru thing, I was wondering why it looked kinda familiar!
