I'm getting used to the height of the new bed already, in fact I like it! It feels opulent and grand to sleep way up there. I know what you mean about being a light sleeper...I'm one too and one of the great things about this super-deluxe mattress is it has a layer of memory foam in there somewhere which kills the bouncing (so Greg can actually jump into bed on the other side and I hardly feel it).
Dimension-wise, I think a king bed is exactly the same as two twin beds side by side. It's only 16 inches more than a queen, but it's SO funny what a huge difference that makes.
"I know I've said this before but Charlotte has great hair." Argh! I know and it KILLS me because my hair used to be that color when I was her age. When I hit 30, though, it's like little white patches bloomed all over my head and at the same time my color lost all its red and went dark and mousey. I have to color it now because it's realllly ugly if I don't.
