Okay, first of all I have to say that
moonphased is a sweetie. She completely surprised me today by sending me the coolest thing; an Inuyasha omamori! It's a Shinto charm...a little silk bag with a sutra sealed inside. Now, I've seen omamori before, but never an IY omamori which is SO COOL because that is almost certainly something I could never find at any anime store in this country. It has a place of honor in my purse now, because I need all the good luck I can get! *smooch* Thank you, dear. :-) By the way, Kuro folds the teeniest little origami crane I've ever seen...it's perfect! I can make a crane that small, but it always gets messed up and the beak ends up looking more like a duck bill. Hers is flawless.
So! Nerdgirl Okami fan art.

And of course, Waka. Because he's the gods' gift to mankind, y'know.

Heh. Just a few silly sketches I did this afternoon while i was killing time waiting for stuff to load onto my freaking computer. Every time I see one of those happy fun Time Warner cable commercials I want to put my fist through the TV set. >:-(
Back to work! I have a bunch of orders to make and I've procrastinated long enough.

And Wakawaka! *L* I so adore him. And I think this is the first time I've ever seen fanart of him at all, so... BONUS!! *Wakagasm* ^_^
Eee!! The package made it to you!! I'm so glad you like it! I remember reading your post back in September about wanting a good luck charm and I was like, "*PING!* I know!! *rushes off to the shrine*"
because that is almost certainly something I could never find at any anime store in this country.
*L* Heehee. Actually, you won't find it at any anime store here in Japan, either! It's "authentic" omamori that's distributed through one of the shrines (in Kanda), so it's really all blessed and everything and... and... well, I think it's been working for ME, anyway ! *LOL*
*bounces* ^__^

Re: IY omamori...OMG you mean that is actually from a shrine? That is twice as cool!! I had no idea that shrines had anime-based omamori...that's absolutely fascinating. When we visit Japan (we have a 2 year plan in the works...I'm savin' my pennies!) I REALLY want to visit some of the older Shinto shrines. I have several books about Japanese art and culture and I need to see the beautiful horse panels that are displayed in many of the shrines...there's a connection between horses and Shinto, apparently (they're supposed to be messengers to the gods) and what I've seen in books is simply inspiring.
