Okay, first of all I have to say that [personal profile] moonphased  is a sweetie.  She completely surprised me today by sending me the coolest thing; an Inuyasha omamori!  It's a Shinto charm...a little silk bag with a sutra sealed inside.  Now, I've seen omamori before, but never an IY omamori which is SO COOL because that is almost certainly something I could never find at any anime store in this country.  It has a place of honor in my purse now, because I need all the good luck I can get!  *smooch*  Thank you, dear.  :-)    By the way, Kuro folds the teeniest little origami crane I've ever seen...it's perfect!  I can make a crane that small, but it always gets messed up and the beak ends up looking more like a duck bill.  Hers is flawless.

So!   Nerdgirl Okami fan art.

And of course, Waka.  Because he's the gods' gift to mankind, y'know.

Heh.  Just a few silly sketches I did this afternoon while i was killing time waiting for stuff to load onto my freaking computer.  Every time I see one of those happy fun Time Warner cable commercials I want to put my fist through the TV set.  >:-(

Back to work!  I have a bunch of orders to make and I've procrastinated long enough.

From: (Anonymous)

You'd better get those orders made - I told those people that you'd be working on them with a straight face! :-)

I heard bad things on the weather channel this morning - is it snowing up there again? I have to admit that my main focus was ignoring my alarm, so I wasn't paying attention. Forty-five minutes late this morning - no lunch hour for me!

Of course I'll do the poem up for you! I'll warn you right now that the layout is going to be non-standard frame size weirdness. It has to be if it's going to be right. Now what to use for a script...

Bob's brewing is coming under control - half the shelving is set up, and the carboys are now residing in a vertical layout again. Which means that floor has been exposed. Which means that I can move *my* junk that needs sorting onto that floor. Which will read directly to getting the library sorted out. Allowing me to letter, AND exposing the futon that will allow us to have guests stay! Woo hoo! If I can move some of that stuff tonight, the boxes of books in the living room can move into the library, and maybe within the next week we'll have the computer set up again. Thank goodness for the connection at work.

I really want to get that area set up - I've got cool things that I want to letter for you, and right now my drawing board isn't even visible!

Rainy and gloomy outside. Yech.

"You'd better get those orders made..."
Haha! :-) I'm almost done with everything. I made sure to get the big things and the masks done right away, but I always save the belts for last because I HATE them...grr!

"is it snowing up there again?"
Yeah, it's sort of spitting snow right now, but nothing too bad right here where we live. It's all south of us in "ski country", where it belongs. Lake snow usually ends up there...that's why that storm three weeks ago was such a freak occurance.

Re: lettering project: Ooo! I can't wait to see what you'll come up with. Take your time of course...I know I'm asking for a favor, but I just knew you could do something awesome. That poem's too cool to exist only in cyberspace...I want it on my wall. :-)

Ammy Ammy Ammy!! I love your Ammy and your Waka!

*FANGIRL SPAZZ*

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

Eee! I had so much fun drawing them, too! You know what my favorite part is? Ammy's tail...I freaking LOVE her tail. Also, Fun Fact #14: my Ammy drawings are actually Kiba, only with a different cool tail and those swirly wing-things. Oh, and red makeup, of course. ;-)

Umm...could you help me? I drew those thinking that I really needed Okami icons, and you do such nice ones! Drop me an e-mail if you're interested and you have the time (and if you're too busy, that's ok too. I should prolly learn to do these myself *lazy*)

Thank you! I'm SO infatuated with that game. Ammy reminds me of my Kiba ('cept, he's not a god with magical powers...but you get the idea).

Aahh! More Ookamigasmage! :D

And Wakawaka! *L* I so adore him. And I think this is the first time I've ever seen fanart of him at all, so... BONUS!! *Wakagasm* ^_^

Eee!! The package made it to you!! I'm so glad you like it! I remember reading your post back in September about wanting a good luck charm and I was like, "*PING!* I know!! *rushes off to the shrine*"

because that is almost certainly something I could never find at any anime store in this country.

*L* Heehee. Actually, you won't find it at any anime store here in Japan, either! It's "authentic" omamori that's distributed through one of the shrines (in Kanda), so it's really all blessed and everything and... and... well, I think it's been working for ME, anyway ! *LOL*

*bounces* ^__^

Hee! That game has me completely infatuated. When I read about it over 2 years ago I was blown away at the idea (I mean...come on! Japanese wolf goddess saves the world with art...was there ever a game more perfectly suited for me?), but I had no idea how addictive Okami would be. I'm playing it for the THIRD TIME. Someone's going to have to stage an intervention soon, I think. Is there any talk of a sequel? I heard that Clover Studios got bought up by a larger company (I forget who) but I hope they'll still make an Okami 2, because I LOVE their style.

Re: IY omamori...OMG you mean that is actually from a shrine? That is twice as cool!! I had no idea that shrines had anime-based omamori...that's absolutely fascinating. When we visit Japan (we have a 2 year plan in the works...I'm savin' my pennies!) I REALLY want to visit some of the older Shinto shrines. I have several books about Japanese art and culture and I need to see the beautiful horse panels that are displayed in many of the shrines...there's a connection between horses and Shinto, apparently (they're supposed to be messengers to the gods) and what I've seen in books is simply inspiring.

OMG Okami fanart!!! *fangirly fit* I just finished the game at...4 in the morning....that ending battle was hella long. XD And omg it was soooo good.

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

OMG you're playing Okami too?? Eeee! We have SO much to talk about! Did you beat the 8-point Blockhead in Kamui? 'Cause I needed help with that guy...it was impossible to do alone.

And the ending was so sweet, it makes me cry. I'm on my THIRD replay of that game (if you find all the stray beads you get a necklace that makes you invincible and THAT, my friend, is too much fun to pass up!!).

BTW, did Waka float your boat at all? I figure he is ~almost~ your kind of guy, because he seems like an antagonist on the first playthrough. Me, I think he's so cute I could squeeze him 'til his cell-shading runs out of his geta 'n makes a pastel puddle. :-) But maybe that's just me.

I just beat the game!! Booyah! LOVED the ending. I'm on my second replay of the game. XD OMG invincible necklace? Sweet! I'm so there!

lmao Yes, I found myself searching for Waka encounters the whole game. :3 The spouting French made me giggle like an idiot and the whole flouncing around and actually being a badass was the charming factor. Plus he has pretty hair. :D

I loved Issun too. He was soo cute.
