Stirred but not shaken.

Feeling better.  :-)  Sunshine always helps...always.

I went for my first bike ride of the season on Friday & I was a total whimp about it.  I did about 7 miles on my flattest, easiest trail and I didn't break any records.  A trip that normally takes only about thirty minutes took a little over an hour.  But it felt GLORIOUS and I enjoyed myself immensely.  Everyone else on the trail had big smiles on their faces (I'm sure I was grinning like a silly monkey too), like we all were just so pleased to finally be OUTSIDE on a beautiful day wearing nothing more than shorts & tee shirts & smiles & goofy Spring sunburns.

Friday night, the Sabres took the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Islanders, in only five games!  Way to go, guys.  :-)

Saturday I hit the Niagara River trail in Canada.  I did almost ten miles and it was a little windy, but I did okay.  Better, still not up to speed but I didn't cough as much as I did yesterday so that's something.  Again, everyone looked absolutely tickled to be having fun outdoors.   I should have brought my camera because the white ice floating on the deep blue river was beautiful and surreal.

I'm going out tomorrow, too.  Work be damned, I've waited all winter for my bike rides and I'm damn well going to go out and enjoy myself.  I'm taking some Motrin first, though.   When I hopped up on the bike yesterday in Canada, I felt so sore...it's all in my butt!  I thought I was okay 'cause my legs felt strong and fine, but the whole time I was apparently sitting on my problem.  I had to keep stopping and get off the bike and walk a bit because my butt was killing me!  It feels just like a big bruise.

Oh!  If you're a fan of good Japanese horror movies, go rent this one:  Inugami.  I rented it last year, and bought a copy at I-Con.  It's just so beautiful and creepy.  Unlike "The Ring" or "The Grudge", this one is so intrinsically Japanese that I don't think it'll ever be raped and re-made by hollywood.  I'm glad, because it's perfect just as it is.

I had a nice day yesterday and Friday, too. Today also. :) Friday was my first ride and it hurt my butt too much for be to be willing to sit on a saddle again the next day, but this morning I could stand it. Good thing too, as punctuation will likely keep me in tomorrow morning...biking is death in the first three days of punctuation.

Everyone was wearing shorts yesterday. I wore a little tie-under-the-chest top and apparently that was too much for people, as I got some looks, even more from women than from men. But I don't care, it was really comfy and I cool off better if parts of my torso are bare than my legs. My legs aren't overly temperature sensitive.

I find Motrin helps a lot when you have aches & pains. I take it for cramps and anything else muscular. It works better than Tylenol does, imo.

Isn't this weather awesome? We're supposed to get rain tomorrow but we'll still be in the 60s...I'm actually glad it'll rain because otherwise I'd neglect my work again in favor of spending the day outside.

Sometimes (ok...often!) I wish I lived some place warmer so I could go out all year, but sometimes I'm glad for the seasons, because winter just makes these first few weeks of warmth that much better. I don't know if I'd feel as grateful if I had warm temps year round. It's a special feeling. :-)

Holy monkey, this WEATHER! It suddenly went from absolute windy sleet crap to sunny days and warm nights. The love is monumental, and I'm so glad to hear you can finally go out on the trails! No more mocking bike rack on the car, muahaha.

*goes to bask in sunshine*

Word.

I should send you this PSP2 game I have. It's a Japanese survival horror and it's so freaky. I haven't touched it since my Kelly left to go to GA. I need her nearby (or someone) so I can grab them and hide behind during the really scary parts.
