I'm starting to get nervous about my surgery.
You know what always chases away the Mortality Blues for me? Makin' stuff.

This Green Dragon went up on Etsy yesterday. It is already gone today. O__O I'm trying like crazy to stock up on awesome stuff, because my first MAIN showcase is coming up on the 23rd & I want spectacular things on my site for people to see. I still have two days to make something really WOW.
This guy went up today...

...he's pretty WOW, actually. Red & black & silver is always striking. I usually use hematite for the stone inlay when I do this color scheme, but I got some really sweet snowflake obsidian from Fire Mountain so I used that instead.
Before I forget, you all must look at this incredible Yule "Boar's Head" that
kls_eloise made. It's hilarious & apparently quite yummy. Also, his name is "Howard".
Speaking of the holidays, I hope everyone got their gifts. I'm pretty sure the folks who live outside the Lower 48 (I think of you guys as LJ International) still haven't gotten their stuff yet. It's coming!
My pre-op appointment yesterday shook me up just a little. There were all these forms to fill out...one was a DNR form. Do Not Resuscitate. Don't save my ass if I look dead. You just can't sign one of those forms without entertaining the possibility of actually dying, which always freaks me out. Does anyone else ever do that? Sometimes when I really try to wrap my head around my own mortality it paralyzes me with terror. I mean, if you actually contemplate not being...it's just terrifying. Sentience seems like an incredibly cruel trick. What's the point of being able to understand the concept of eternity if you also have to understand that you won't be there for all of it? Setting aside religious beliefs, it's a pretty sure bet that being Dead is going to feel a lot like being Not Born felt like. That's...just plain scary.
It didn't help that they took a lot of blood. I got a little dizzy. Good news is I'm ridiculously healthy. My blood pressure is awesome & I don't smoke or drink (not by choice, to be honest! I love a glass of wine every now & then...it's just that my lifestyle doesn't support hangovers). So, yay for that!
