MUCH better...
Sometime last night I must have turned some corner, 'cause I feel much better today & I am so sorry for making everyone worry. Almost all the swelling went away; I'm about half the size I was yesterday. I stayed in bed for almost the entire day yesterday, & Mom brought over a heating pad for my tummy (I highly recommend those for woman cramps...it started working almost immediately), & today I feel like a new person.
I have to call my doc...he was in surgery all day yesterday but managed to call me twice, called in an extension on my darvocet (I didn't use it), & even offered to meet me at the ER last night if I wasn't feeling better. I don't even think I need to go in for that appointment they scheduled for me this morning...I feel that much better! I've probably been a terrible pain in the ass. :-(
I have to remember not to do much today, even though I feel like I can. I've been running up & down the stairs all morning, doing chores & feeling like my old self. Another day in bed is probably a good idea though. I think I was feeling terrible on Wednesday because I did too much. Those are the worst cramping pains I've ever had...
Hey! I learned something new about Etsy last night. They have this section called the "Treasury"...it's a place where users make up picture lists of their favorite Etsy items (usually based on themes). It's kind of like a showcase built by other Etsy users. Well, I'm all OVER that treasury! I have about 4 things listed throughout...who knows how many pieces I've had in there? That explains why I often get mystery faves & sales, even when I haven't paid for a showcase. Neat!
Last night when I was doing a quick bit of maintenance on my site (it's pretty much the only thing I let myself do yesterday, besides lie curled up in a fetal position) I saw something new on one of the Etsy sites I watch...THIS SCARF! Of course I bought it...just look at it! It's in my favorite colors. I love her fringe scarves too...she doesn't just make yarn strands for her fringe, she actually crochets her fringe strands, so they have form & texture. They look like tendrils of tiny leaves, or strands of kelp, or little icicles...so pretty. I was looking & looking at her stuff, especially liking this taupe "poet" scarf, but always in the back of my head hoping/wondering if she might do something that was a little more "me". I can't wait to get it.
I have to stop looking at things on Etsy! That place is dangerous. *shrug* Oh well...I usually never buy myself anything because nothing I see in stores really suits me. The only things I've bought myself are my Neile butterflies and now this scarf...and they are SO unique & lovely & who else even knows about them? Besides, my sales this week (even though I've been so out of it!) have more than covered my little extravegance.

Anyway...I just want to thank everyone for being so sweet & calling/leaving messages for me yesterday. I'm SO sorry if I made anyone worry. I was honestly pretty scared & the pain was really bad...otherwise I wouldn't have made a fuss. *hug* You guys are too kind to me.

And I just looked at that scarf you got off of Etsy... and I think I'm in love with the cream/white scarf on that site. ^_^

I foresee a lot of Etsy in your future! Roy is going to HATE me for introducing you.

They bring in a LOT of attention, so those days where you have lots of hits, you can bet a treasury is likely behind it. Not as much as a showcase, maybe, but pretty close...and totally free!
Fringe and I had a deal for me to buy a Poet scarf a few months ago but it got all wobbled around by circumstances...I really can't afford it, she's raised prices TWICE since I joined Etsy. Her 'gallivant' bag is what I REALLY want but I love the Poet, too.

I can't believe how things are accelerating for me there...just a few weeks ago I was all happy 'cause I hit the "200 watchers" mark. Today I'm at 295! Once you get some momentum it seems almost self-sustaining in there.
Oh, the Poet would be lovely for you but I though this one would SO be something you'd wear...

Friend Day is coming, y'know! ;-)

But that scarf IS gorgeous, must be one of her newer colours...my winter coat is white, you know :)
I've had 3 treasuries, and they ARE hard to get...they seem to have gotten even harder. Some people hog them...they've figured out exactly how to do it and have the best connections and they keep any poor sucker on a slower connection from having a chance. KarmaRox or whatever her name is ALWAYS seems to have at LEAST one treasury on the go...and RunAliceRun, too. I don't know how they do it but I figure they have a system figured out, and probably super high speed connections.
I have 12 'hearts', lol.

You know, once you get a few showcases (main is the best though the second-best is probably the category showcase...you just have to make sure the first word in your classification for your pieces is "accessories" & Etsy does the rest), then you'll get more & more "hearts". The more people's pages that you end up on, the better you'll do (it's like advertising & it snowballs).
I'm going to do an entry all about your stuff & especially Amazon, since it ties in with my work too. Soon. Probably Monday (once I stop talking about my woman troubles!)

I'm also thinking of adding a small line of prints to my shop. Just nature stuff. I'm not sure whether I should, as The Far Grove probably seems just like a jewellery/accessory store and prints might seem out of place, but my reasoning is that it is only prints of stuff you could find IN a grove, etc. Also, it's a major pain in the ass to open a second store.

I actually have my eye on this store...

She does the most charming handmade gingko plates & if I got a set of those with matching gingko chopstick rests, it'd be the cutest handmade sushi plate set EVER!
I'm dropping hints like crazy (on Greg)...Mother's day is coming...

The plates are a good price, too, though I like the colour of the set in her banner rather than the first item listed in her shop...they're brighter and the brown one is replaced with cream in the set in her banner. Very pretty. Wouldn't go with my dining area...it'd have to be dark cream/soft tan, chocolate milk, black, white, gold, or deep apple red. :) (Dark green goes nice in the living room too but it isn't part of the scheme.)
Oh and I meant to say...thanks :) And I won't complain if you buy me something, I promise. Lol. :) (I have a bit of a guilt complex when it comes to people buying me stuff because I generally can't reciprocate equally.)

But the point is, I didn't *know*. Neither did you.
I hope you kept the appointment. You should at least find out what caused all of that.

Anyway I feel almost like myself. I'm still a bit slow & sore, but the bruises are starting to turn a lovely shade of yellowy-green and I can see my toes again...good signs! By Monday I'll prolly be fine.
I cancelled that appointment. They are SO overbooked right now, & I'm seriously doing just great. If I get really painful again, my doc said to call right away & I have his cell phone number.
I think I have a little crush on my doc! *sheepish* He's been so nice to me. ^__^

I got the document done. Despite putting it off. Despite my pigments being dried out. Despite my glair being moldy! I made new egg tempera paint and just got the damn thing done. I'll post picture - I'm pretty pleased.
Your doc sounds great. I'd be more meaningful, but it's 12:48am. I'm going to go to bed and try to get through 12th Night tomorrow. Gah. I wouldn't go at all, but it's the local group and I feel obligated to help.

*FLIPS THE FUCK OUT*
JESUS, I am so glad you are feeling better, and now I feel awful for ignoring the flist yesterday. I AM SORRY! And yes, yes, stay in bed! If there's one thing I've learned it's that when you think you are better? YOU NEVER ARE

Besides, I'm fine. All I did was make everyone worry, & now I feel like an ass. A less bloated ass, but an ass to be sure.
You know, I took what you said about Hillary to heart & took a hard look at Obama, & he'll almost certainly get my vote in the primaries. You made some good arguments & I have to agree, Hillary is TOO polarizing & I don't think the Dems (or the country) can afford another loss.
Besides...President HUCKABEE? Are you kidding me??

And yeah, yesterday I was just pounding f5 on the megathreads at the Something Awful forums and whimpering. And I'm so glad I could help you take a closer look at the candidates (and of course I'll be over the moon if you give my man your vote). And yeah. Huckabee. Ugh.

Oh man...Etsy is like crack. I can spend hours looking at all of the stuff there and not even notice. Heh. My co-worker, Beth, checked out Etsy last weekend because I'd been raving about it, and she had to tell me that she had the exact same experience...started browsing and before she knew it, a couple of hours had mysteriously disappeared! lol

OMG isn't Etsy great? I love noodling around in there...there are so many beautiful things & so many talented people. It's the perfect venue for me!

And no worries about the fuss! We know that you wouldn't have said something if you weren't really in pain, and you had no way to know it would get better on its own
That scarf is really you, and it looks warm and cosy as well.
And congratulations on the treasury! That's very cool.

I can't wait to get that scarf!! It's going to look incredible with my favorite black sweater & my jeans. ^__^

And OMG Etsy is addictive. I bought a shirt for my best friend and she loves it.
