Hmm. I got my hair done today & I'm very happy about it, 'cause it looks great again. Pretty much exactly like it looked last time I had it done *points at icon*, 'cept I had Tracy add some dark lowlights & it's all shiny & stuff.
I'm not doing so good! TMI time, but I'm taking a low-dose BC pill for health reasons & it's messing me up. Basically I'm PMSing all over the place. Which is unfortunate because I've been handling everything so well up until now. I get helplessly angry at stupid things & frankly even though I know why it's happening it doesn't make it any easier to snap out of it.
*sigh* So tired. Another side effect of the pill is that it kicks my ass. Could be that I've been staying up too late watching the Olympics. But oh...I DO love the Olympics so. I just know I'm going to cry during the closing ceremonies, & only about 30% of that'll come from the hormonal roulette I'm playing with my body these days.

Going to the gym & lifting does help quite a bit. Clears the head & all. I've become addicted to this contraption...

It's called a vertical knee raise machine. I just call it the thingy. It has no moving parts...simply put it's a self-torture device. You hop way up there & rest your back against the back pad & prop yourself up on those arm pads with your elbows & the rest of you just dangles there. Then, you draw your knees up to your chest & then lower them slowly as you exhale. You just keep doing that until you pretty much can't anymore.
It's good for the abs, but it's never my abs that give out first...it's my crappy upper body. Still, I'm improving. The first time I did it I was good for about 15 lifts & I practically fell off the thing. I'm up to 4 reps of ten now & I've only been at it for two weeks. Plus, I can do that twice (on a good day)...once at the beginning of my set & once at the end. I suspect it's going to give me shoulders like a linebacker. *shrug* or maybe I should say *SHRUGGGG*

A note to all you busy artsy people out there (
wildwoseI'm thinking of you here) ; This site is changing the nature of my business in a rapid & dramatic fashion. You might remember some months ago I mentioned that SeekingDesigners.com gave me a free lifetime listing (which was cooler than I knew) because they wanted my shiny artstuff in there. At the time it was just getting started & nothing much came of it...for months. Now, however, I have bulletins e-mailed to me on a daily basis informing me of press and photo opportunities like you just wouldn't believe. That's how I hooked up with Vogue and Niki Shadrow and the Sunday In The Valley event, & a number of other things as well. I'm not sure what they charge for a listing, but if you're serious about expanding your business it's totally worth looking into. I'm very careful & circumspect about the opportunities I choose to respond to, but so far every single lead they've alerted me to (that I've followed up on) has turned into something awesome.
Please look into it, if you feel like really expanding your market. It's an awesome tool & I'm so very lucky that they decided to let me in on the ground floor, so to speak. Like John says; luck is when preparation meets opportunity. If you've done the prep work by creating an item or a line that everyone wants, then this is the opportunity that'll make your business take off.
golden_meliades, I'd recommend this to you but I know the business end of it would probably become everwhelming. It really IS a lot of work. Your stuff is so beautiful, though, and I know they'd love to feature your work. Anyway, if you're ever feeling ambitious it'd triple your potential output (& how cool would it be to see your wonderful hairsticks in some model's hair on the cover of Vogue?).
