Just checking in briefly (I know :::gasp::: but I can be brief from time to time) to say that "Shadow Of The Colossus" totally owns my soul. Is so pretty, just like "Ico" (developed by the same team; Sony Computer Entertainment) Also, just like "Ico", it's toying with my emotions. The more of the Big Guys I kill, the worse I feel about it! They're so pathetic. None of 'em are asking for it; I'm just making my little hero dude wander into their territory, provoke them, and then kill them. I have to. It's how the game goes. Apparently it's how I save my girlfriend. But I hate it, and the music is so damn sad each time I kill a colossus (and they squeal pitifully like a harpooned whale, and they die in slow-mo), I actually teared up when I offed the "horse-whale-cow" colossus. Wah! Life is sad enough without being intentionally traumatized by your entertainment. Sure is a pretty game though.
In other news, I failed to mention all the cool stuff Charlotte got from us (which is good 'cause she's a good kid and she shares). For example, Greg got her A DVD of "Moonchild", a Japanese vampire movie featuring Hyde (from L'arc En Ciel, they do fun J-rock stuff including the theme song Ready Steady Go for "Full Metal Alchemist") and Gackt. Gackt is supposedly the prettiest man in Japan. Though, after seeing this movie I have to say Hyde is certainly adorable (has a strong sort of Asian David Bowie thing going on). Those guys are a couple of real live bishonen.
I got her NintenDogs (cute!!), Dragonquest, a new handmade rice bowl, and loads of strawberry Pocky (her fave). The Pocky source has dried up since Media Play took a crap, so now I guess I'll have to buy the stuff online. :-/
Oh well. Back to slaughtering innocent giant creatures!
