News from the edge: We had an ice storm today and a lot of people lost power but not me. So, yay for that.
Also, there was FINALLY an arrest of that Bike Path Rapist serial killer that's been busy in the area since 1986...and you better believe I'm happy about that, since I practically live on the local bike paths all spring summer and fall. Creepiest thing is I swear I've seen the guy on a few of my bike paths...I am not even kidding. It'll be a load off my mind; it's something I'm always worried about.
Greg bought me this movie for Xmas, The Grave Of The Fireflies, because I'd heard it was very good and from Studio Ghilbi and because I wanted to see it. What I did NOT know was that this movie would rip my living heart out of my body, stomp all over it, and place it back all bruised and bleeding and owie. Seriously...I have NEVER seen a movie that made me cry like this one. We watched it Saturday night and it was a big mistake. Charlotte and I were sobbing and so broken-hearted (and not just during or immediately after the film...I'm talking 20 minutes later, even armed with chocolate ice cream and we're STILL blubbering) that we had to watch all of silly/goofy/fun "PotC Dead Man's Chest" afterward to wash some of the tragic out of our minds. So, in short; The Grave Of The Fireflies is beautiful, important, masterfully done...and I am NEVER watching it again. *made the same promise about "Schindler's List"*
Went to that event on Saturday...it was "meh" and *shrug* but it was good to get out of the house anyway.
That's all. I'm full of thoughts and opinions today but I'm declining to share them because I'm cranky & my period is kicking my ass and I'm apt to say something snarky that I'll be sorry for later. Suffice to say, I'm surrounded by people in love with their own personal dramas & simultaneously lacking perspective and it's beginning to really amuse/annoy me. So, if you're having a good day please continue to do so and if you're having a bad day please take a deep breath.
I'm gonna go have a few of those new Hershey's Cherry Cordial Kisses...they're really yummy!
