Snow Day

 "Snow is going, snow is blowing, snow is overflowing."

That's a poem I wrote when I was five years old.  Yes, truly!  We had just moved to Buffalo from NYC & apparently I was really impressed by the snow.

Well, when you're five a snowfall of ten inches is halfway up your legs & a monumental occasion, but even for adults a ten inch snowfall can be daunting.  We may get twice that amount by Sunday night.   Whew!  Thats...a lot of shoveling.  Plus, since I'm taking care of Mom's house that means I have to dig myself out & then go dig her out.  Waaaah.

But I'm not here to bitch.  I'm actually very pleased on several levels tonight.   Knowing there was a big storm coming (they've been talking about it for three days here...so we all rushed the supermarket & bought bread & milk like we were preparing for a snowy apocalypse) I made sure to mail out my gifts to everyone on Saturday, before the snow started.  Things should arrive just about everywhere in three days...yay!   Getting my mailing done is a load off my mind.  This is my biggest mailing ever too...over 18 packages!  That's almost twice what I sent out last year.  I hope you guys like everything.  *cheerful*

Meanwhile, my Mom is in Las Vegas at Celine Dion's last Vegas show.  John got tickets at the very last minute.  They called from the theater...Mom got interviewed by the New York Times & is totally beside herself.  I hope they're having an awesome night.    ^__^
