Y'know...I'm beginning to think I need time off! Seriously. I worked until 5am, slept until 11:30am, woke up & immediately started taking pictures of the work I finished last night. After noodling around in photoshop, then Etsy, then Photobucket & finally here...I look up to see I've been busy for two and a half hours & I haven't even gotten dressed yet or had coffee or breakfast (*snort* it's lunchtime) or really, done anything that wasn't work-related. & my day is just starting. & this is a typical day. I'll spend the rest of it running around to the post office (to mail orders), the bank, & various other house & mom-related things, before settling down to another 6 to 8 hours of making stuff.
Don't get me wrong...it's GREAT to be busy & successful but my life has become very one-dimensional lately. Busy busy busy. I'm too driven to do what I do to have any sense of proportion or balance. This is how Jim Henson died, y'know. He was a busy, creative guy too, & one day he got the flu but was too busy to do anything about it...& then a blood infection killed him. A cautionary tale.
Anyway! Morbid! On to the show. Here's my brother John's Art Nouveau "Angel" mask.
He drew this angel sketch in like five minutes (if that) & issued a challenge to make her into a mask, which I did. I use her with his permission...I think he gets a kick out of seeing his art rendered in such a weird medium (COW skin...odd!). We're both huge Alphonse Mucha fans...can you tell?
