Masks & Musings...

New masks!  Inspired by my trip (trips!) to Japan. 

Ginkgo!  Because it's everywhere in Japan.  The ginkgo leaves were just turning when I was there...I made Japanese people laugh when I said the fallen ginkgo leaves look & sound just like Cornflakes cereal.  I guess Cornflakes are international.

All these masks are up in my Etsy shop RIGHT NOW!!   At bargain basement prices.  'Cause Christmas is coming.  Just because I'm a big rock star in Japan, doesn't mean I don't like to eat.  Or pay bills!    *sigh*   Life as an artist in America is a funny combination of gratification, freedom of creativity & expression, & sheer terror over making ends meet.  Whee!

Good news; my brother John will be here this weekend!  Yay!  He's up in Toronto on business...I'll drive up there tomorrow & pick him up.  He hasn't been here for a visit in, oh, 2 or 3 years.  Looking forward to spending some time with him.  ^_^

More good news:  Char opened up her own LJ!  dream_marie ...go check it out & "friend" her.  She wrote so sweetly about her reasons for wanting her own LJ...

I originally decided to join livejournal after watching my mother's journey this past year or so. Her struggles and triumphs were all shared with close friends on this site, not only opening new doors for her, but also helping to close those she's already walked through once and for all.
Not that I was hoping in any way to achieve what she has through using this site as an outlet...but her story is inspirational in other ways. So this blog is really a quiet tribute to her in a way. As well as a collection of windows to the inner workings of my mind.

OMG isn't that beautiful??  My kid can write!  Go say hello if you have time...it'll make both our days brighter (a happy teenager = a happy house).

I'm filling myself up with coffee & goodwill.  Wish me luck on my trails today!  *smooch*  Love you guys.  ^_^
