EDIT:  Thank you all so much...I really appreciate your help.  We are monitoring e-bay & Craigslist too...nothing local so far.  The police are investigating the theft; because of the value of the camera & the lens it's grand larceny, so they are treating this very seriously.  Fingerprints were lifted from her locker & the case, the police are watching the pawn shops, and we are going to get the school involved as well (they tried to brush us off but their lockers are malfunctioning & if they require Char to bring an expensive camera to school for a clas, then they have to provide reasonable protection from theft.  That's the law. ).

So that's where we stand.  :-/

***********************************************************

Well I haven't slept at ALL since I found out that some disgusting amoral piece of trash stole my Dad's old camera from my daughter's locker.    Seriously.  Christmas is ruined.  Not kidding.

I have no idea how many people read this journal, but if you're not busy and you're noodling around on E-bay or Craigslist or any one of a dozen sites where stolen things can be sold, please look for this camera...

It's a Pentax, it's old, and there aren't very many of them.  It has a Nikon lense but I doubt that'll be obvious to the brain trust that stole it.  The listing will have to be very new... No older than December 18.

I'm making flyers to hang up all over her school & in every local pawn shop.   I don't know what else to do...

Thank you to everyone who replied to my last entry...I responded in an edit since frankly, the whole thing is too painful to dwell on.    Wheels are turning, stuff is being done.  Nothing could really be done TODAY though because...SNOW DAY!  No school.

We are being blasted by the same huge system that's socked in the entire Northeast.  My house:

You can see the snow flying!  We got about ten inches of snow, with more falling right now.  It's windy as hell too; my happy shiny peace dove flag is sideways.  I even had to clear off my shrubberies!  All the nice LED christmas lights were completely covered & my shrubs were sagging beneath all that snow.

Expand Snowmageddon )I dug everything out & ran inside to get the camera (because I am that kind of nerd) and already there was a fresh inch all over everything I had cleared to the pavement.  It really started up again in earnest after I got inside, so by now there is another three inches atop that.  It's like I never shoveled at all.  I'm going to have to go out again in a minute...
