Merimask Goes On And On

I love it when everything comes out just as I hoped it would. The dragon plaques I make (you can see them on the bottom of my website) were just like that too. My first concept sketch was on the back of an old electric bill and the finished dragons were identical to that. Sometimes it just works out that way. The trick, with this kind of sculpture, is to have your idea of the ~final~ design in mind while in your mind's eye you ~flatten out~ the pattern, so you can make it 3 dimensional. That's the translation that doesn't always work. When it does, though, it's like great sex. :-)
