I see "making it" as achieving a level of success that'll allow me to get gallery showings and gallery prices. I'm driving a 5 year old car (a Volvo so it's not that big a deal but STILL) and my income is SO cyclical...it depends totally on the art festival season. I'd like to travel more (a LOT. Especially in the winter. To warmer places.) and I'd love to have the creative freedom that comes to someone who is respected in the world of fine art. Right now I'm still catering a lot of my work (and my prices) to the market that I sell to. If I can just take a few more steps up that ladder, I'll be in a place where I can really do more than make a living...I'll be building a creative legacy.
