Keeping busy, keeping busy.  Keeping my head down and my feet moving.  Good friends help along the way.  :-)

Like [profile] rumdiculous, who spent a couple hilarious hours chatting with me on line last night...we crack each other up.  She made me the COOLEST icon in the whole world, based on another of our conversations (basically along the lines that the Final Fantasy designers have a not-so-secret bondage fetish, on account of all the uneccessary straps everyone seems to wear).  Sephiroth is an especially conspicuous offender, as he has straps UNDER his clothes (I mean...why?)...and, well...here's the resulting icon:
I can hardly wait to use this one.  :-)

Speaking of [profile] rumdiculous, I got her box of homemade wine today (hilariously labeled as "liquid perfume" and wrapped in about three yards of bubble wrap, but it made it here safely with no leaks!) in the mail and it is YUMMEH!  I guess her Dad makes it and it's like a sweet dessert wine that packs a punch.  Like...really!  Sippin' wine, my dears.  Anyway, it's a real mood-improver, let me tell you.  Plus she sent it in a beautiful thick glass caraffe that I'm most definitely going to be using some more in the future; very pretty.  Thank you, Sarah!  *big smooch*

I'm going to do an SCA event this weekend, just to shake myself up and get the hell out of the house.  I find nothing blows away a funk faster that people and noise and questions.  Oh, and adulation...that helps too.  ;-)  I'm bringing the Wave Dragon, just so I can show it off.  I have no intention (or desire) to sell it, I just want people to see it.   I finished a bunch of little butterfly and leaf pins...

...which are good busywork for me and also they're great for smaller events.  I sell them for between 5.00 and 15.00 and people love to get them and give them as inexpensive but unique gifts.  And I really take pride in making them...I research the leaves and the butterflies for accuracy (I'm into the details) and I KNOW I take far too much time on them for the price I sell them at...but so what?  They kind of make me happy.  They're my little life savers when I'm feeling blue...I can always lose myself in painting the details, yet they're undemanding.

I'm looking forward to just getting OUT and being with people, too.  I'm alone too much.

So yeah...off to an event on Saturday...actually we're leaving tomorrow and we got a hotel room for one night.  Mini vacation!   I think I'll bring Sarah's wine with me.   Greg has to try some.  :-)
