Just a quick update in which I will *squee* a fair amount because my talented friends on LJ are just so kind & wonderful to me.

Yesterday I got two lovely hairsticks from [profile] golden_meliades!  They are perfect in every way...a little shorter than the others, perfectly balanced, the colors are incredible and they are SOLID in construction.  Really...can't say enough nice things about them.  I immediately braided & twisted up my hair, & recruited mom to take a picture, because they are so damn pretty.

I wasn't using a mirror...I can see I didn't have both the ends of the sticks showing, but I don't care.  They were SO easy to put it & they stayed put for the entire evening.  WONDERFUL sticks.  When she opens her Etsy store she's going to sell out of those in no time, once everyone sees how awesome they are.  I'll link her store as SOON as she gets up & running.

Other very cool thing:  A wonderful, hilarious package from [profile] moko_moko(who I have missed terribly...turns out she killed her computer).  She wrote me a beautiful letter and gave me a handmade card...and there was a "mystery product".  Waay back when we were all Okami obsessed I mentioned that I'd LOVE to see her version of Waka because she draws the prettiest men.  Well...

Isn't he incredible??  I knew she'd come up with something amazing, but this is beyond beautiful.  Plus he's got SWORDS!  two of them.  *swoon*  He looks a bit ragged...probably post-big-final-battle & I love the look of determination.  He's not just a guy with stupid pretty hair.  :-)  I can't wait to frame it & have it up on my wall.

So, I'm a very happy monkey & you guys are ALL wonderful.  *hugs*

WHOA, holy monkey, those sticks are beautiful! Besides blue/orange/brown being one fo the coolest color combos, they look great in your hair (keep forgetting how much lighter it is now). Yeah, why doesn't she have an etsy shop? WHY?

Woo, it got there safely! The guy at the post office took so long because he kept guffawing at Giant Kitties X3 Hee, love the use of past tense when it comes to Okami obsession...it's infectiously delicious I tells ya!

OMG I love your Waka....LOVE!! He's so incredibly awesome. Moonphased sent me a couple of Okami doujinshi but still, your Waka totally blows everything I've seen away. Thank you so much! ^__^

& I still am pretty "Okami-obsessed", I admit. Did you hear, there's going to be a Wii version coming out soon? There might even be a sequel now!

...WUT. WUT DID U SAY.

See, now I need to have one. There have been too many signs. I don't care if it's the same game, this way we can choose which version to play depending on how lazy we feel!

(and Okami doujinshi! That's badass >_<)

Wow, that's a beautiful picture of that...that guy! *looks for a name* Waka, that Waka guy. :) Is one of his swords glowing green? And because I can't zoom in on the photo, please forgive me but...it looks like he has a pile of doodoo on his head. I assume it is not. What is it? His hair is awesome and I love the long shape of the picture, too.

I'm so glad you like your sticks! And I'm extra extra glad that the shipping was safe and the sticks seem very sturdy to you, that was what I was aiming for. (I've made them about three or four times stronger than they used to be, which is why I've remade 20 of my old sticks.)

ROFL...you kill me! Seriously, I can't stop giggling. No...that's not doodoo on Waka's head. ^__^ It's sort of an eagle headdress thingy. You're so funny! It's a great drawing, isn't it? She's incredibly talented.

As are you! I'm just crazy about those sticks. They are half as heavy as the other ones were, for some reason, & they don't slip at all. You're going to sell a LOT of those. Thank you!

Dangle sticks ARE much heavier because they're very top heavy. I only have one more pair of the bone sticks unfortunately (the place was sold out of most of their types of bone stick) and I think two pair of black ones in the same style, so almost everything that goes into my shop will not be on those bone sticks but on wooden or painted (but still wooden) ones. But looped strand sticks have a lighter feel because of the balance in any case. I also don't know how to paint the bone sticks because normal paint won't stick, it chips off easily, and I'd get horribly bored if all my sticks were either ivory or black.

I THOUGHT I saw a wing. But then I thought that wearing a bird on his head would make as much sense as doodoo. Then I thought maybe a mask, but THEN I wondered why a wolf would want to look like a bird. (Though people want to look like wolves, so who knows.) Then I remembered that in Okami there is some sort of doodoo attack and thought hey...maybe...

I don't get it, though. Aren't they wolves? Do they also have human forms in the game? If they don't, why does everyone imagine them as human? I've never seen a human picture of Lassie...

Spoilers for the Okami game...look away!

Actually Waka is not a wolf at all. Neither is Amaterasu...that's just the form she takes so she can be among humans. Waka is actually an immortal who gets exiled on this plane of existence at the same time as Amaterasu. He's thought to be human, though ('cept he can do magical things & he has a cool sword).

I shouldn't mention any more 'cause it REALLY blows the fun of the story unfolding (& I know Zanna plans to play it & maybe PZB), but I just have to say Waka's character is really neat. :-)

Wow, those hairsticks are lovely! They look great in your hair.

I haven't had a chance to play Okami yet (we bought it, but I'm not allowed to play video games until my dissertation is done, because I'm working like a crazy monkey and I can't afford to be distracted by a really cool game right now) but the drawing is wonderful.

Some day I'll get to share in the Okami love :)

The sticks are awesome...I can't wait 'til she opens up her Etsy store because I think I want a set in every possible color combination.

You'll love Okami & eventually (once you play it) you will understand my Waka obsession. & on that day you will COVET my sexy Waka art (but he's mine!!). ;-)
