Okay, so my last entry was pretty glum.  I will try to rectify the situation.

Good news!  I bought a new pair of jeans yesterday.  Levi's AND they are two sizes smaller than I used to wear so...I look great in 'em.  Always a cause for celebration.

The Police concert is this Saturday!  Elvis Costello is the opening act!  I would have paid $200 a ticket just to see Mr. Costello.  I think I'll wear my new jeans & my new kimono jacket.  Yeah!

Behold.  A new mask.

It is neato because it is green.  Also...dragonfly.

I did the dots as a whimsical way of showing the track of the dragonfly's flight, but now they look like a trail of little golden poops to me.  Hmm.  *tilts head*  Not exactly what I was going for, there.  Oh well.

Today, while I was out running around doing chores...it snowed.  I'm not gonna complain because I said I wasn't going to do that.  But yeah.  Sleety snow.  In April-almost-May.   Yup.

Ooh. Envious. I soooo want to see Sting. I missed the last chance when he came to Detroit, though I heard rumors that he might be coming back to the Palace. Must check into that.

The little dots look like whimsical dragonfly tracks (kind of like the footprints in Family Circus) to me.

Freeze warning tonight, but then it looks like it may warm up again. Not as warm as last week, but warmer. And I don't want it too warm just yet; our airconditioner isn't fixed yet and this apartment is a sauna without the air.

Yep, I'm really looking forward to that concert. ^_^ The last time I saw the Police it was '85 I think...the year they broke up.

I was complaining about the cold & Greg said the same thing you mentioned; that it'd be sweltering hot soon enough!

Wow! You are completely channeling my sister. She loves dragonflies, and spirals, and those shades of green.

I just really felt like doing something very green, for some reason. ^_^

Hey...it'd make a great present for your sister! ;-)

I agree with Zanna - the first thing I thought of was the "Family Circus" trails.

We've been having frost warnings here, which would be a shame because my new bleeding hearts are doing so well. But it could be worse - I heard this morning that there are some areas of MN that have had over 3 feet of snow just in April. I'm occasionally grateful that my family moved out of there.

Cover them with frost blankets. You can get them at a nursery. (Though they may call them by other names...they'll know what you mean.)

Hmm. I think I'll check our forecast, because my favorite nursery is just down the road from my office. Thanks.

Frost blankets are a great idea & you can re-use them anytime...plus they don't make a mess like straw does.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was going for with the gold dots. Maybe it's a bit silly...I just wanted an excuse to add some gold to the green part of the mask.

Ugh...this cold snap is so cruel. With the ice on the lakes it already takes too long for Spring to come to this part of the country. We don't need arctic air masses to mess things up just when all the cherry blossoms are blooming.

I forget about that aspect of being near the lakes. Down here my quince is blooming and probably almost done, and the forsythia are already starting to fade.

It's pretty standard here for there to be at least a bit of snow at the end of April through early-mid May, but still, every year it feels like a kick in the teeth.

The mask is sweet...and dragonflies are still so popular (my best friend loves them.) And the flight path does NOT look like little poops, because they're very rectangular. Now if you'd done little blotches, there might be trouble :)

I'd like to see it in less earthy colours and mroe fairyish colours, too...like lavendar and blue and silver, and so on. :) Or vibrant colours like red and bronze and gold, etc...it's a winner in any colour. Seriously.

True...that's exactly what it feels like though, doesn't it? A kick in the teeth. Well put.

I don't even know what dragonfly poops look like. Maybe it's a trail of dragonfly eggs... ;-)

Hey, a blue with purple swirlies mask with a green dragonfly...that'd be very interesting. I like the idea of the jewel tones. I'll wait to see how this one goes though, because sometimes I LOVE an idea & I'm the only one who does. Like those beach masks. I'm crazy about them but no one else seems to want them, & I did two of them, & there they sit in my shop.

I agree with the rest, it's definitely a flight trail. Relax, it looks great!

Thank you. :-) I just did another one with a monarch butterfly on it.
