So I saw the weather reports yesterday and they all said "Hallelujah! Friday will be warm!" and so I asked Greg to put the bike rack back on my car in a fit of rampant optimism.
And today I woke up and HALLELUJAH! 55 DEGREES! So I went to the garage and brought out my bike, dusted it off, filled the tires and put it on the car. I drove to my favorite trail, willfully ignoring the way the wind was kicking my Subaru all over the road.
And yeah...it was a bad idea to even try to ride my bike. I only went about 2 miles before I turned around. At one point I did a little experiment and stopped pedaling, and even though I was going downhill, the wind not only stopped me but it began to blow me back UP the hill. Yep. Time to turn around.
But hey...I DID get out there, so there's that. I know it was just a teaser but soon it actually will be bike-riding season, which makes me happy happy happy. ^_^
In the meantime there's a little wooded trail not far from here, only two miles long, so I'll take myself and my bike and Kiba out there. It's not like a real bike ride 'cause I'll have the dog, but we'll enjoy the fresh warm (relatively speaking) air and have a little bike-related fun, which is just fine by me.
Meanwhile I had my first facebook-ad-related sale, three days into the ad run. Not bad, I think. :-)

I'd considered a Facebook ad before. I wasn't sure of how much it would cost, however... the pricing looked a bit open-ended, last I looked. Do you think it'd be worth it?

Facebook ads are confusing at first & to be honest, since my sister just did one for her company I asked her to set mine up.
This much I know:
*if you pay per click, you basically pay what you want. You bid what you will pay per click (I bid 35 cents per)which determines how frequently your ad shows up & where on the page it is placed (the higher the bid, the more frequent the ad & the higher on the page it is placed)and then you set a "dollars per day" amount. I set mine at $15 a day. So when my clicks add up to $15 dollars, my ad shuts off for the day. That way, you never get charged crazy high amounts. So, this means YOU decide how much you want to spend...as much or as little as you want. So far, I've hit my limit every day, usually by 6PM.
* You have to think about WHERE you want the ad to run. I ran mine in every urbanized state in the US. Also, I picked a big list of keywords like "dragon, fantasy, masquerade"...stuff like that. & my ad runs on everybody's page that has those keywords listed as an interest. My ad is eligible to run on almost a half million pages.
* You have to be able to take checks or money orders on your Etsy site. It's reasonable to send people to your Etsy store & expect them to be willing to take a minute & get an Etsy account('cause it's quick & free). It's not reasonable to expect them to also be willing to set up a Paypal account (if they don't have one) because that takes a LONG time & is troublesome.
Anyway, I hope this information helps. :-)

Here the weather has been fantastic--according to weather underground, temps hit 70(!!!) today. And it's sunny--so sunny it's almost painful and yet wonderful at the same time. Unfortunately, any out door plans for me got slashed--I came down with something last night and so I'm pretty sick this morning. Not going anywhere, and it's supposed to be cooler and rainy all weekend :*(
Congrats on you first FB based sale! I'd say a sale 3 days in is doing pretty good.

But the dog & I do have fun on the wooded trails...not that the creaking trees didn't make me really nervous. O_O

And a sale already from the Facebook ad? That's *very* good.
