Yeah, I'm officially old. Old old McOld. S'ok though because IMO I'm still fun. PLUS tonight my hair is awesome and magic just like it was in the old days, and I think that's just fine. :-)
Anyhoo that's about all that's going on right now. The wind is screaming outside (seriously. Gusts of 60+ mph) and I'm worried that more branches might come down. That storm we had over two weeks ago weakened the trees so badly that there's a good possiblity that we might lose power again, which would really suck. :-/
*keeping fingers crossed and candles nearby*
So! We finally own this house. Well, technically the bank owns it now but *shrug* you get the point. It's a weird feeling of happy + nervous = queasy in a warm fuzzy way. Very confusing. I'm really tickled over how happy Greg is though. I've been a homeowner before so it's not so much a novelty to me, but he's elated and it's very cute. Aaand just to put it all in perspective, my wildly successful brother called me tonight to tell me that he just bought a flipping mansion out in Las Vegas.
And! I'm replaying Okami because there was SO much stuff I missed first time around. On friday night I got an idea and concocted a plan to defeat the eight oint Blockhead in Kamui. Those of you on my F-list who are playing the game know of whom I speak. That bastard made me cry.
So, my plan invloved Charlotte and a piece of paper. First, I asked her to put the paper on the TV screen and mark the points but we quickly lost track of the order in which they appeared. So I asked her to just mark the last four, while I remembered the first four ('cause I knew I could remember four, at least. Whaddaya want? I'm OLD.)...and we beat it on the second try. It was awesome! We jumped around and hooted like a couple of baboons.
I'm only 3 stray beads short now. Can't wait to see what happens!

Today we went mattress shopping and it was so much fun! We went to a local mattress manufacturer and got this awesome top of the line king size mattress that is guaranteed for 20 years. 20! I think that's really incredible. It'll be delivered on Monday. All hail the new mattress. *bows*
Greg also bought me a Dessert Deli cake. There's this little storefront in Amherst that makes the most amazing desserts (we got our wedding cake there) and he knows how I LOVE their cake. It's golden cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and strawberry buttercream betweeen the layers. Just...yum. There will be pictures, because we always take pictures of the birthday cake, because we're weird that way.

Oh, I'm going to be enjoying that cake all week, I think. :-) It's awesome but it's so rich that the only way to eat it is in tiny slices. With coffee. Mmmm...

It looks like we're all flying out on the 17th, wedding on the 18th, Greg and Char fly home on the 19th but I'll hang around until Tuesday the 21st. I wanted to stay longer but life is complicated. :-/ Anyhoo the only thing on my agenda (besides the wedding) is a meeting on Monday with (get this) the artist Guy Buffet's agent. My MIL set it up. Gonna see about maybe getting some of my work into some West Coast galleries...isn't that a scream? Keep your fingers crossed for me. ;-)

Haha! Okami. Oh man THAT GAME. I finished it for the second time last night and cried EVEN MORE than I did the first time. It was SO unfair because I just had completed my stray bead collection and then poof, it was all over...but wow it sure made the last few fights a piece of cake (you get invincibility, never-ending ink supply, AND 10X greater damage added to your weapons once you have that stray bead necklace).

And holy crap I KNOW!! T___T The addictiveness hurts sometimes. I got the string of beads last week and am about halfway through the third playthrough. Let me say...God Mode is the best thing ever, right up there with puppies and unicorns and a never ending bag of money. Seriously, this game eats souls in a most endearing way.

Oh wow...you have cable hookup problems too? We just got the Time-Warner high speed and of course the cable modem has taken a crap already. *le pout* They're not going to replace it until some time next week, because the storm caused so much damage that they're backed up with repairs. It's...character-building. Greg's going to look into buying our own modem today...probably expensive but *shrug* at least we'll end up with equipment we can hopefully count on.
