Wii.  You have eaten my life and I hate you.  Oh, you couldn't have done it alone...you had to gang up on me with Twilight Princess.  I call no fair.  My right arm is killing me and it's your fault.

Thanks a lot,
Me

PS...and now I have a big fat crush on Link.  That's just great.

In other news, I finished the CUTEST thing for [personal profile] smillaraaqtoday.  It's in the mail now.  I wish I could share (I took pictures...it's that cute), but I want it to be a surprise for Smilla.  I'll put it in here later, I suppose.

Also, I'll be in Toledo Ohio next weekend.  Any of you on my F-list live in Ohio, or somewhere nearby?  I fear I may be doing this event alone too.  Woe.

Oh!  And!  MUCH love for the Buffalo Sabres tonight who won the most exciting game against The Rangers.  It was incredible.  The score was 1-0 with eight seconds to go, when the Sabres tied it up in the third period.  We won in overtime.  So now our team is up 3 to 2 in the second round playoffs...thrilling!  This city just about went nuts tonight.  The HSBC (Hot Sauce Blue Cheese!  Local joke...) Arena is totally sold out...so the fans go down there anyway (nearly 10 thousand of them) and hang out in front of the arena where giant video screens broadcast the game that's going on inside.  Everyone just wants to be there.  It's really touching.  This poor sad old industrial city...if the Sabres won the Cup it would be SO awesome for everyone here.

Wii are you doing that?

Remove Wii from your life ASAP... it is a life-sucker, plus I have been watching people play it on youtube and they just look plain silly. Evidence below...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98V8w0w4WtY

Actually, I'm jealous because the technology and gameplay are excellent, and I know that buying ANY of those game platforms will INSTANTLY kill my business... plus induce a heart attack while jiggling away at the controls...

In lighter news, Mom and I have successfully removed the seat cushions from our butt cheeks, because last night's game was a "clencher."

go bills (tee hee)

Re: Wii are you doing that?

I know...I'm Wii-diculous.

It's just so much fun! I've always loved the Legend Of Zelda, and now FINALLY it looks as cool as it really is. The graphics are sweet. Still not as pretty or unique as Okami, but pretty damn good.

The motion-sensor thingy is TOO cool, by the way. It detects angle & direction as well as movement, so you can backslash or overhead or whatever, for real. VERY very fun.

But yeah I'm sure I look like a dork doing it. :-)

Oh yes, the Wii and Twilight Princess devour your soul. I did NOTHING for the month or so that I was playing it at home.

I can't wait until you finish though... I totally want to know your reaction to the ending.

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

OMG It's already so convoluted & dark. I just finished fixing things for the Zora and I hafta say "Hmm!" because everything I'm doing seems like a Really Bad Idea. *shrug*

I need some cute Link icons...did you make your own?

From: [identity profile] pzb.livejournal.com

Yeah, it's easily the darkest Zelda yet.

LOL, I did make mine, but I've seen a number floating around LJ.

HEE, I'm glad you're having fun with it, even if it's a vicious life-sucking beast. *is so jellis for TwilightPrincess*

HAPPY WIIKEND~~

I need to Wii-member that I have an event coming up and I need more stupid circlets for it. *sigh*

I'm getting a cute little wii-muscle on my arm! It's so cute!

How's the piercing? You DO know that when you start healing it's going to itch like crazy. :-D

From: [identity profile] moko-moko.livejournal.com

Wii-muscle, HEE. I was over at a friends house tonight and we were all whining about the fabulousness and wanting one. The Wii, that is. And the muscle by proxy :D

It's good! Woke up the next morning and no soreness. Quite a few of my friends have theirs and the worst they experienced was dryness, but it was from using too strong a soap for cleaning. No itchy chest ahead!

*cackles evily* Yessssss. We have assimilated another into our Link fangirls. All is going according to plan. Mwahahahaha!

I stayed up playing that game for three days straight since I wanted to finish it before I had to go back to work, and my roommate and I played it simultaneously (we bought two cpies cuz we're weak ;P). But! That was just the GameCube version. I'm bugging Matt everyday to crack open his Wii version so tht I can have a go at frantically whacking things when they surprise me (my usual freakouts might actual have an effect on the game! w00t!).

...and now I want to play it even more so tha I ca stare at Link again. Mmmmm. Liiink...*drrol*

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

lol...I've been a Link-fan from waaay back. It's just that now he FINALLY looks as cute as he always should have. OMG the sumo-wrestling training...

From: [identity profile] rumdiculous.livejournal.com

Come on, it's Link. He's a hero and he wears tights. Oh and blonde hair. Mmmm blonde hero...

O my gosh that's so cute. *ded*

Seriously...Link. What's not to love? He's even kind to dogs and cats in this game. You can pick up puppies and kitties and I don't know why! Just to be cute I guess. And you can throw bones for the doggies to fetch. Why? I don't know! It seems to serve absolutely no purpose except that it's very darn cute.

And then they follow you around, which is so. Damn. Cute.

...

Cute!

Link is the ultimate hero. He's great with animals, great with kids, has a fairy thingy, has a gorgeous horse, and he can play instruments. Oh and a purple sword. *dreamy sigh*

I love the different suits he gets in that game. They look so badass on him. I've always been a fan of him in red. :3

Hmm..... I'm beginning to think that maybe getting the Wii before I finish my dissertation isn't such a good idea....

By the way, is the event near Toledo Baron Wars, or another event? We're thinking about going to Baron Wars, though we haven't decided for sure yet.

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

Oh yeah by all means if you have ANYTHING important that you intend to finish do NOT get the Wii. It's not so much the Wii...it's the Wii and what it does to the Legend Of Zelda (turns it into video-game crack). Wait until you are done with your dissertation (good luck, btw!!) and then buy it and tune out the real world for awhile. It's a TON of fun...it's just utterly distracting.

Yep, I'm going to be at Baron Wars. Never miss it, if I can help it. Fort Meigs is the coolest SCA event site ever...it's the only one I can totally suspend my disbelief at, y'know? Especially at night with all the torches lit. Just plain neat. If you decide to go, stop by for a visit!

From: [identity profile] zannachan.livejournal.com

We've never been to Baron Wars, but it's not that far from us--maybe an hour?--and a friend of mine was telling us about it. It sounds like a lot of fun.

From: [identity profile] ermine-rat.livejournal.com

I am Wii-curious ...but yellow. Sometimes I think that my love of video games makes the SCA seem like a productive hobby.

They don't show all the Sabres games out here, but they're still the only hockey team I follow, even though Satan went to the Islanders and Hasek went to the Red Wings, but Afinogenov pulling that last game out was so sweet!

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

You, fighter-type person...you NEED to get a Wii. It's so cool because it recognizes attitude and angle and even swing velocity...it's as close as you can get to swinging something without actually swinging it.

Oh, the Sabres ROCKED today. My family is scattered all across the country & yet we all watched together & screamed at eachother over the phone every time they scored. It was a hoot. :-)

And I just got the cute thing today and am dead from squee, so post away! Your pictures are bound to be better than any snapshots I could manage, after all. :)

(As far as hockey fans and sad industrial cities go, you *have* seen Slap Shot, I presume? If not, it's well worth a rental, and I say this as someone who doesn't usually click with sports movies. It's just that funny.)

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

Oh good! Do you like it? Does it look anything like your doggie? I had fun making it. I saved the pattern if you want more (they'd make great gifts for elkhound-people).

Yah I have seen Slap Shot. :-) That's sort of what life is like here, in a way. Everyone's so crazy about the Sabres right now, though, that even if they lose the next Stanley Cup round they'll still be Buffalo's darlings. This town can be sweet, sometimes. It's a city that feels small town...but in a good way.

It's lovely and not too light at all -- the nose and ears are really the closest he gets to solid black, all the rest of his dark markings on tail, saddle and spectacles are much like husky hairs, instead of solid color it's grey with black tips, so the shading can vary quite a bit by viewing angle and recent brushing and amount of undercoat. You've got that perky grin and alert ears perfectly, and he looks like he's just about to kick back into the "frog dog" pose. ;)

And I'm primarily righty with slight ambidextrous leanings, so either barrette orientation would have worked but right's definitely a wee bit easier.

He's lovely, thank you ever so much! I hope your mother enjoys the brooch.
