Who rocks?   ME!  That's who.  I not only finished three plaque orders in the last three weeks before Pennsic...I also finished my ENTIRE monster-sized order for that "Rumors" gallery in New Orleans, while re-stocking for Pennsic at the same time!

Oh, I am so utterly beautiful today.  *basking in the glow of my own self-satisfaction*

First things first though;  I MUST thank

[personal profile] smillaraaq for the awesome Gaiman book (I got it today & set aside everything to read it, right away...it's a REALLY neat book) and also the kitty catnip pillow.  Kumo loves it!  He says "Brrrrt!"...which means "thank you".  You're so sweet, hon.  :-)   *smooch*

And now...the mask I busted my ASS to finish for "Rumors";  Green/Teal Medusa.

I'm very happy with it.  :-)  I beat my own personal record & finished this mask in just 7 hours...that's pretty damn good.

A few angles:

and...

It's neat, eh?  The snakes' eyes are pearls, leftovers from my Mistletoe dragon.

The light was perfect for pictures today; bright & hazy outside (also, crazy-humid and hot as hell), so I figured I'd better photograph as many things as I can while the light was good.  I might be selling a lot of this stuff next week...you never get a second chance to capture those pieces perfectly, & once they're gone it's too late.  So.  Pictures!

Amaterasu.  From Okami.  My favorite goddess.

More Venetian kitties!  These two are going to New Orleans.   Hope they knock their SOCKS off.

And finally, my beloved "Natsu No Nami", the Summer Wave Dragon as it REALLY looks, in full color.

Here's a close-up study of the head & waves...

Yep.  That's one for the old portfolio.  Damn, I love this piece.

I may very well end up selling him next week, at Pennsic.  Times are tight, but there are always people there with money, and I haven't brought anything spectacular there yet & still had to bring it home.  So yeah...prolly I'll be selling it.  It makes me a little sad.  I'm not sure I could make that one again.  At least I have my pictures now, though.

So, I'm not leaving on Friday because there's still too much to do... all the packing & stuff, for instance.  A solid week of 90% humidity, dust, hot temps, more dust, 12 thousand sweaty people, wrath-of-god storms, floods, and sleeping in a tent is QUITE enough thanks.  No need to rush there just to spend an extra day in all that.  Saturday morning will be just fine.

In other news...the collapsed bridge in Minneapolis is kinda upsetting for me.  When I was there I went back & forth across that thing a LOT & never gave it a second thought.  Tonight, while coming back from my evening bike ride I thought about that bridge going down & shuddered.  I was crossing the Grand Island bridge which is known to be a bit of a relic.  Really makes you stop & think, y'know?

Anyhoo, kids, I better scoot.  If you get to missing me (or just get curious about some of my other art...since I have a lot of my watercolors in here), go check out my PaperDemon gallery.  I've been putting up all kinds of stuff in there.  Fun!

*tosses a virtual cookie* (hey, at least there's no calories! lol)

God, these are all so beautiful. I *love* the Medusa mask and amazed at the intricacy of the Summer Wave Dragon. I also went over and checked out the latest additions to PaperDemon. I've probably commented on it before, but the Dream mask just blows my mind. Although I'm sure it doesn't appeal to everyone, I adore the symbolic nature and richness of it. I can tell you put a lot of work into that one.

Hee! Thanks, hon. :-)

I'm glad you like "the Dream". I think it was one of the neatest things I have ever made, because of all the symbolism.

*hug* See you in a week!

Gorgeous. I'm hitting the road as soon as I get the husband out of bed. Six hours of I-80, here we come.

Damn humidity. This is going to be a grim set-up.

See you when you get there.

It's supposed to get really hot in the middle of the week. Woe! We're going to steam like veggies in a wok.

You'll probably beat me there.

Damn, woman! You so deserve to bask in the glory of your self-satisfaction. XD You worked your tail off, and it shows. :D And it's amazing.

Good luck at Pennsic!

Thanks, hon. *hug* OMG I can't believe I managed to get EVERYTHING done, you know?

Heading out! :-) See you in a week!

Awesome job. You just get more kickass as you go! You deserve all the greatness that comes your way, darling dear!

Have a great time at Pennsic! I know you'll rock their world.

Yay! Thanks! :-) I'm pretty happy that everything came out looking like I didn't rush on it (even though I did).

*hug* Wish I could take you guys with me. See you in a week!

Oh the teal Medusa is lovely! I love the pearl eyes, they really stand out. :D

And as always the goddess mask rocks my socks.

Yay, camping in a tent. Only not. :/ Guess we'll both be busy this weekend. Luckily your drive is shorter. Luckily I won't be around an assload of stinky people. But you'll be making money whereas I'll be trying not to get arrested with Kelly and Cat. :D Have fun dearie!

Isn't that teal Medusa pretty? I love how the snakes' tails on her forehead look like bangs...I think Medusa should be "pretty" even though she's a monster.

Hope your trip is a fun one! OMG don't get arrested!!

*hug* See ya later, tater. ;-)

Ooooooooh, gorgeous as always. I *adore* the cool color scheme on the Medusa; are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is there a bit of a shimmer to the teal/green bits?

And I'm so happy you (and Kumo, of course!) enjoyed your package -- that's always been one of my favorite Gaiman one-shot stories and PCR's art-nouveau-on-acid tendencies is really suited to the surrealism of the heavenly city (also, bishie angels are so up his alley). And the catnip toys have been a bit of an ongoing experiment with the fabric scrap boxes, glad to hear there's another satisfied test kitty! Now make sure Dinah knows she's not allowed to play with it until she stops snubbing her litterbox. ;)

Thanks! Yep, I mixed some "pearlizing" agent into those colors on Medusa. I almost always make her sparkly, & I never use the colors right out of the bottle. Liquitex paints are great for blending.

Kumo carried that pillow around all day! It's just the right size for him; he loves it. *smooch* That was so sweet of you.

Dinah has decided to straighten up her act, thank god. *sigh* I'll put up with a lot from my pets, but animal filth on the floor is a deal-breaker.

*hug* See you in one week!

Well since my favourite colour combo is blue-green-purple and any breakdown within (blue-green, blue-purple, purple-green) obviously that Medusa is my favourite so far.

You rock so much.
(Total medusa mask love.)

As some might have noticed...I've been a bit crazy about Etsy lately. (Love it, might sell there myself some day.) Anyway, found a seller that reminded me of your stuff...well, sorta. So I thought I'd show it to you: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=40434
