Thank you, Perry Farrell & Sattelite Party, for my header.

Heh!  Yep, I bought the shoes!  Also, some wonderful sparkly bling to decorate myself...the Red Dress ensemble is complete!

Me happy.  :-)

So here it is; the new red dress (with jacket).

Those shoes are too much...I love them!  They have one small black strap that hooks up over your heel.  The front is clear plastic & they are SO comfortable because there are no thin straps that dig into the side of your foot.  I wore these for an hour & it was just like wearing sandals.  Even the heel is easy to walk in.

Cute!

Also!  Once I found the shoes (and they had this rhinestone bow-like-thing on them) I had to get some jewelry to match.

Fun!!  I wanted something that'd drop down over my breastbone & fill in that expanse of white.  It's just glass.  I got a matching bracelet, too.  The earrings that came with the set are useless...I have no superfluous holes in my head.

And here is the dress without the jacket.

See what I meant when I said it was candy-apple red?  The whole thing sparkles too.  I like it better with the jacket, frankly
.

Anyway, there you go, you curious cats.  :-)

Y HALO THAR, YOU LOOK FUCKING AMAZING!

The dress! The jacket! The shoes! The acessories and nail polish! You! All beautiful! Sorry for gushing, but one has to call out stunning when it appears :D

Aww...thank you hon! :-) You're too sweet.

It's funny; normally I'm dreading the wedding "thing" but I'm actually looking forward to getting there in this dress...I think it'll be fun.

Hot damn! That jacket is super cute and totally looks like it belongs to that dress. XD

Yay for the sparkly red dress! :D

Heee, thanks! Though I'm more of a Hakkai!whore myself, how can you not love the kappa? XD

They're both pretty irresistible, ne? Gojyo pushes more of my usual buttons, but there's just something fascinating about Hakkai when you get to see what's going on behind that pleasant smiling mask...

Which may be why I find him particularly compelling in youkai form. Also, the vines are insanely hot.

From: [identity profile] pzb.livejournal.com

Oh indeed they are. Minekura certainly knows how to make intriguing characters.

Oh dear GOD yes. (Which reminds me, I never did post my Youkai Hakkai piece......may have to rectify that.)

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

Thanks! I think so too...the jacket totally made it & it was just one of those "accessory" things hanging on a rack in a corner. Did you notice I mirrored the "criss-cross" design of the wrapped jacket with the necklace? I was especially pleased with that, myself. :-)

I second the icon love!

It looks like you could even afford to have it taken in a wee bit under the arms...you must be several sizes smaller then you were pre-weight-loss, eh? :)

That doesn't at all look too young for you...and it's SUCH a cute style, I would absolutely love to have it myself :) (Thick waists and empire waists suit me best of any waist style and you know I love to wear red! Plus I have a secret love for lace clothing...)

It'd look really cute with a white shrug, too...though of course you know black and I don't get along that well, lol. But with the mostly white bow on the shoe, it'd definitely look cute that way, and it'd probably make you look quite tan on top of it...if you like looking tan. (It's never happened to me so I wouldn't know what it's like, lol.)

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

It is just a wee bit big on top...but not by much. Everywhere else it fits perfectly, so I'm not sweating it (plus when the jacket is on you really can't tell it's a bit loose in the bust). It figures that when you lose weight the FIRST place it goes from is the bust (though frankly I had a lot too much up there anyway).

I'm glad you like it! :-) I was a bit nervous about it (I love red clothing in theory, but in practice it almost never works for me), but with this dress I really do feel like it "fits" me well.

Your body's so much fitter than mine...you'd look AWESOME in a dress like this. You have a long, pretty neck & this dress would really show that off.

From: [identity profile] golden-meliades.livejournal.com

When I lost weight, I lost it pretty much equally all over...about an inch in measurements (each at hip, waist and chest) per ten pounds. About. I did lose the MOST at my chest (8 inches minimum, but I was HUGE) but then, I was a G -_- A G! That means I've come down 5 bra sizes. Eek, right? Funny, I always wanted to be 5 foot 7 when I was a kid...then I decided that D36 sounded about perfect...and guess what I am now? Hehe.

Though of course now that I am those things, I want to be five foot eight and a D34. -_- Women! We just care way too much about our own outsides.

I don't care for my neck, honestly, I think it's stalky and could afford to be longer. However it is/can be rather nicely corded, at least.

I'd say you're as fit as me, with all that biking you do. Looks like you're about at the point where you'll really start to notice all the muscle that was previously blurred by the stuff over top. I have fat arms, for one, and always will (unless I have surgery to remove the loose skin), but my legs are great, at least, and my stomach is nice and flat. Too bad about all the back fat. :/

I'm just sayin'...you probably look as fit as I do overall :) Differently so, but still.

From: [identity profile] golden-meliades.livejournal.com

HEHE. I meant 'stocky', not stalky. That's funny, since it sorta fits...

Hello, hottie! You look absolutely fabulous!!!! I love the dress (GORGEOUS color) and the jacket is just *perfect*. And yea for sparkley *comfortable* shoes!!!!

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

Hee! Thankya, hon. :-) Sparly red isn't my usual thing but for this dress I'm making an exception.

From: [identity profile] charismitaine.livejournal.com

I love it! It looks fabulous and saucy. The jacket is especially awesome--it looks very finished and polished--I love the fit. I want one!

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

Thank you! That's what I liked about the jacket...it balances the dress's lacy frilly-ness with the clean sharp line of black fabric. The big "geisha" bow on the side just adds to the fun. :-)

FAAAAABULOUS dress, dahlink. That's a wonderful color on you. (And if you would wear the earrings if they were clips instead, that's an easy conversion to do -- it'd just take a few seconds if they're dangly.) Also, if you don't wear heels often and find the balls of your feet getting a little sore from the unaccustomed pressure, hit the foot care aisle of your nearest CVS and look for Insolia inserts -- I've been test-driving them in a few sets of cute but unwearably-painful evening sandals and they really can make a huge difference in comfort levels. (Plus they're clear and only fit towards the back of the insole, so even in sexy little sandals like those nothing shows.)

Le sigh. How I envy those of you who are chesty enough to look good in strapless things. My own weightloss of the last two years is making things look like I might need to go back to A cups, at least in some brands...waah! That was the only GOOD part of being a little heavier, darn it!

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

Thank you! :-) Everything kind of came together for me, with this dres. I got lucky.

The shoes are really very comfortable. Actually, oddly, I have a habit of walking on my toes anyway so heels are rarely a bother (assuming they aren't pointy little heels that one has to balance on).

Damn, it's nature's way of sticking it to us gals (the fact that we lose weight off our bustline FIRST). I don't really mind though...I had too much going on up there before.

*whistles* You my dear, are a red hot fox. That dress is gorgeous. And I love the black jacket with it.

That first pic is adorable. ;)

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

*hug* Thankya sweetie. :-) For once I have a dress that makes me feel pretty (instead of like a trussed-up clown).

Re: <insert male chauvinistic comment here>

lol! Thankya dear. :-) I'll be taking it out for cocktails & a cruise around San Francisco bay, anyway (though I think it's going to be my New Year's Eve dress too!).

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

:-) Thanks sweetie!

omg did you SEE my Okami doujinshi? As soon as I got them (gift from Kuro) I thought about you.

OMG!!! YOU LOOK SO CUTE!!!

>>>gushes<<<<

You look really amazing honey! That dress is fantastic, and it's something that I'd totally wear!!! I like the lace on the bottom, and I'm very impressed with how you pulled all the jewellry and stuff together like that. I noticed the nails too!!!! :)

You look absolutely amazing and gorgeous!!!!

I'm very happy for you and very proud to call you my friend!!!

Look at you go!!! :)

Love Elle

Hee! Thanks so much! All the jewelry & accessories did come together very nicely (I got very lucky with those shoes...50.00 shoes on clearance for 19.00 & they actually had them in my size!). It's really not my usual style but I think it works for me just the same.

From: [identity profile] zannachan.livejournal.com

You look absolutely amazing! I love that dress on you, and I especially love the jacket--I agree that it really makes the dress. And I'm really impressed with how you pulled the accessories together. I'm terrible at it, myself.

Seriously, you look fantastic.

From: [identity profile] merimask.livejournal.com

Thank you, sweetie! :-) It's a bit of a leap for me (I'm more the Bohemian type in my flare jeans), but I like the way it turned out & it's actually comfortable, too.

From: [identity profile] zannachan.livejournal.com

Life is richer for a little variety--and it's great that the dress is comfortable, too.

I don't know what "type" I am, but I'm big believer in comfortable, practical clothes for every day--but sometimes it's nice to be able to dress up, have some fun, turn some heads. That looks like a fun dress to dance in, too--lots of flare and sparkle and bright shiny color.

Fabulous Dress. In fact the whole ensemble id just ducky. You look like a million bucks!

From: [identity profile] shvetufae.livejournal.com

Oh là là! Look at you! You look gorgeous. :)

I can't wait to hear all about how all the men's jaws drop--and the women's, too--when they see you. :)
