Well, here they are; the masks I've been working on.  I'm starting with my maple leaf mask, since it's my favorite.

Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the prettiest.  I just love the seasonal look of this mask.  My favorite iconic autumn  image is the way the fall maples look after a good rain (like today).  The trunks turn black while the leaves look like they're on fire.  This mask reminds me of that.  Plus, it's a classy take on traditional Halloween black & orange.

Here is the gray fox.

I'm calling it "gray" & not "silver" because it's not metallic & I don't want confusion.  It doesn't look wolfy at all, does it?  The difference is obvious to me, but you never know.

Red fox.  This one & the maple leaf mask went up on Etsy today.

Last one...

Just a simple Ivy mask.  These are so inexpensive...I just wanted a couple of less pricey masks in there.  Probably should have done another in the Fall theme though...this seems less spectacular next to that maple mask & yet they're the same price.  I'm putting this one up with the gray fox, tomorrow, probably.  Pacing myself.

Speaking of Etsy, the coolest little thing happened.  I noticed I got "favorited" by a new person, & when I went to check her out (I always do that...check out the people who like my stuff to see what other things they like or what kind of stuff they make), I found out she's a reviewer!  She featured a couple of my pieces in her shopping guide, ThisNext.   How neat is that?  I was wondering what happened because my hits had levelled off & suddenly they jumped dramatically.  I sent her a nice little thank-you e-mail.  :-)

The Etsy Halloween contest is ending soon.  I entered my wolf and my two Medusas.  I hope they do well...the prizes are pretty cool.  I want a limited edition Etsy tote bag!!

I just realized (I know it sounds dumb because who forgets their own birthday?), I'm going to be 42 in less than two weeks.  42!!  I sure don't feel 42.  I don't think I look 42.  I know I don't act 42.  *baffled*  When did I get so old?  My life is (if I'm LUCKY) half over!  Wow.

Greg said something about going to Canada for my birthday.  A few days at the Fallsview casino in a resort hotel with a spa & an awesome waterpark attached.  By the end of that weekend I will either feel not nearly 42 or (depending on how much partying we do) I will feel 90.   Anyway, looking forward to it.  I badly need a mini-vacation.

I forget *my* birthday sometimes...but I do have a pretty good excuse since my family doesn't observe birthdays so mine always passes just like any other day, to me. I won't forget my next one because I'll be THIRTY, hehe...and would you believe that I JUST discovered that I look really good in ultra-high (top of the head) pigtails? (Actually I put in two piggies and one pony so that I have three sprouts shooting all curly-like out of my head and it works great.) How sad! How much longer are they going to let me get away with these juvenile 'dos? I'm probably safe as long as they continue to card me for alcohol, I guess. (I actually had a woman NOT believe me when I showed her my ID, once...but she was convinced soon enough after I talked to her a bit. 1978 really doesn't seem that unbelievable for me, I don't think.)

I like the brown of the ivy-type one, it looks like terracotta...and you know how I feel about black ;) But the maple mask IS the one I like the style of best...the leaves are very showy and the 'eyebrows' or 'lash line' or whatever you want to call that is really obvious in it, and it makes it look particularly feminine.

Hey, I have to admit I LOVE the way my hair looks in ponytails (& so does my husband)! Yeah, I know I'm not 16 but it's awfully cute & a simple thing to do with my hair that gets it out of my way.

The Maple mask is my favorite too. The trees are just beginning to change, here. It's very inspiring.

Yeah, it's true actually...almost all the people making noises about women not wearing piggies after a certain age are other women. And I think they're just a mite jealous that they don't have the nerve :) (Or don't look good in them, because not everyone looks right in piggies.) Though I have to admit, some women DO look ridiculous in them...a white haired old lady with high piggies for example is just going to look senile in my eyes.

Hmm. I'm wondering how the Ivy mask would look if you'd done the eye outline/stem in green? Maybe even continue the stem over the bridge of the nose so it looks more ivy-ish. You know what I mean? I love the clay color of the base.

The foxes look awesome (and, yes, he definitely looks like a fox, not a wolf) and I loooooove the maple leaf mask. The leaves just pop against the black background. Really beautiful. :D

Hmm...that's a good idea about the ivy in green. Though, I think if I continue the stem over the brow it'd look like a monobrow! :-)

Thank you! I love the maple leaf mask too.

I think if you dip the stem lower over the nose, it won't look like that. XD

The Maple Leaf mask is cool. I couldn't see it before because my puter was acting up. But way nice!

Love the A.

That's so cool how well Etsy is working for you!!

Heh...well, just remember that 42 is the answer to everything in the universe. :D

Etsy IS working great for me. I'm getting new ideas for all sorts of things (mostly little stuff...but little stuff is good 'cause it pays the bills).

lol...Greg said the same thing to me.
