I said that too when I first read Bleach...everyone refers to them as his 'hair noodles'. SOmeone told me (Aoi I think) that they're actually a class marker...a sign of the nobility. Not just in the manga, but irl, I believe. I can't remember for sure, but whatever it was, it must have been a long time ago...I never see anyone with hair noodles these days.

They'd actually be really cool if they were a bit smaller.

I was given 'Hitsugaya Toshiro' but I don't know who he is. Is he that snarky little kid with the white hair that is SOMEHOW a shinigami captain?

lol..."hair noodles"? Too funny! I can always spot a Byakuya cosplayer at a convention...it's the person with aluminum foil in the hair. It looks like part of a crimping iron!

Yep, Toshiro is the green-eyed kid with spiky white hair. He's just a kid but he's pretty cool 'cause he's the captain of the 10th division.

Apparently he's *not* a kid, though, he's actually really old, he just *looks* like a kid. I don't know, I never figured it out. I don't think those kids of Urahara's (the ones working for him...if that's his name) are actually children, either...but Bleach is so complicated, I tend to skip over a lot of the details and just try to remember the main plot.

What they really oughtta do is wrap strands of hair with thread and then cover each strand with a bit of white silk or something. Aluminum foil doesn't really convey the look very well. :)
