Still making things. I was waiting for more leather to get here (I'm all out of cow) so while I was waiting I made a bunch of little things, including this koi pin.
I thought I'd try something different & made it in sepia tones; red ochre and black on a neutral leather fish. Up in Etsy of course.
I also got a wonderful gift in the mail from my friend Elsie. It's a vintage-looking butterfly cameo necklace and I love it!
It even goes with the silly frumpy sweatshirt I'm wearing today...thank you Elsie! *hug*
I was in a great mood but then, Charlotte came home from school. She's taking an advanced photography class & today, someone stole her camera right out of her locked locker. It wasn't actually her camera; it belonged to my father. An extremely valuable Nikon with all the bells & whistles...worth over $1000. I am livid & heartbroken.
Seriously...no words.

So expensive, and even if you could toss out a thou to replace it, it was your dad's.
The cameo looks like it was made by JewelsbyNature, with that large central ring. Can't remember if she does cameos or not, though. I like her stuff, though, that's where I got the necklace for my best almost a year ago, now. (I still want one myself, and will probably get one...eventually. Larger necklaces usually suit me pretty well, though small are okay, too. Solidly prominent collar bones seem to go with everything.)

I'm just SICK about it...been crying all night. My Mom was so happy to let Char borrow that VERY valuable old camera. It's not replaceable 'cause they don't even make them anymore. When my Mom finds out it's going to kill her. :-(

Yay! and OMG!
I'm so devastated for you with the camera! I mean it's material.. but omg that's so frustrating! Friend of mine a month ago was broken into by a burgler at home (some guy faking cleaning supplies but she wasn't home so he busted his way in) and stole all her jewelry.. her mom's rings and jewelry.. granmother's jewelry.. all gone.. It's such a violation for any material thing to be taken.. worse when it has massive sentimental value on top of it. Oh I so hate injustice. My massive sympathies. :(

I'm so angry & upset about the camera I'm unable to think straight right now. If I could curse the brat that took it I'd give the little monster herpes or something awful & disfiguring.

That is terrible about the camera. Not just for the camera but also because it belonged to your Dad. Where is the respect. So sad.

I'm too upset about the camera to even think about it right now. I'm physically ill at the thought of it being gone.

The other stuff is nice.

It always makes me mad that people think nothing of taking property that isn't theirs. Either you work hard for things or they were given to you and have special meaning. It's a very violated feeling you get when things are taken from you. I do hope you are able to get the camera back.

I'd guess pawn shops are obsolete in a time when stuff can be sold on E-bay or Craig's List. It's really very gone. :-(
Our only recourse is a law suit, I think.

That is awful about the camera. When things like that happen it just makes me sick to my stomach :( I hate losing things, but something so valuable and sentimental is just horrible *hugs*

I'm so upset about the camera. I can't even let myself think about it because once I get rolling I can't stop crying. It is not an exaggeration to say that this holiday is an utter wash for me.
