Argh...I'm sorry!  All my entries are kitty entries!  I have to apologize...he's a new guy.  I'll get over it soon.

Sleepy Kumo.  He loves the futon sofa.

Greg took this picture...

Kumo in the birdhouse perch.  I'm SO glad he's using it, because I bought it thinking Dinah would love it...only she can't fit her fat butt through the opening!  It's been sitting ignored for 5 months.  I was just about to give it to my mom (her cat is skinny & likes perches).

Hangin' out in the cat room.  His tabby pattern is called "classic blotch" (I looked it up in my cat book), which looks like giant thick swirls on his sides.  The pet store people thought he might be a tortoiseshell, but the are wrong.  Wrong!  I know 'cause I've always wanted a classic tabby (& now I have him!).

Aww!

Charlotte took the "sleepy kitty" pictures.  She freaking LOVES the little guy.

He's running around the majority of our downstairs area right now.  I thought I'd give him a little more freedom.  Kiba's outside...I'm still avoiding dog drama.

Later today we're going to see the vet.  I think his patchy fur is nervous grooming, but the dullness & the kittysquirts (thank GOD for clumping litter!  'Nuff said) are probably worms.  Eww.  Treatments are much simpler now.  No big deal

*sigh*  All the money I had saved for my Vegas trip later this week is GONE.  *shrug*  Oh well.  Kumo is cuter than a slot machine any old day.

Edit:

OMG someone STOP me.  He just crawled into his toy basket...

As of right now he's actually sleeping in it.  *DED FROM CUTE*

Kitty-spam, you say? Did you ever see the pics from the time Strega decided my knitting basket was REALLY a cat bed? (She did curl up in there on my afghan-in-progress for a nap, but I couldn't manage to get a good pic of that pose.)

I don't know what patterns there are but I had a BEAUTIFUL long-haired cat the colour of orange marmalade, and she (and her son) had PERFECT wobbly bullseye patterns on their sides. Rings inside rings, on fur that trailed down nearly to the ground. The rings were dark orange and the regular fur was light orange. Very pretty.

My kitten aura was orange too, and she had a dark orange M in her fur, right over her eyebrows, it was funny :)

I swear that kitten was only masquerading, though...she was actually a puppy. She would NOT stop licking me and climbing on me and wanting to be ON ME every single second! Jeepers, I need space!

That's EXACTLY what the classic tabby pattern looks like; swirly rings inside of rings. Of course, Kumo is no show cat so his rings are a little broken, but I've seen some classic tabbies that look just like the ones you had. They are considered VERY valuable when their markings are that clear.

The "M" (sometimes a "W") is absolutely neccessary for any tabby. :-)

Eee! *adores* That picture in the basket is just the cutest ever--he's precious. And looking at all the pictures now he's definitely a Kumo. I want to be in his fan club.

Hee! I swear this is the BEST documented cat I've ever had. Every time he does something cute, one of us is there with the digital camera. It's disgusting.

Of COURSE he loves the futon sofa - the dark blue contrasts nicely with the light grey hairs that he will leave on it.

I have also never known a cat that didn't instinctively know what colors they look good on.

Don't forget to take a "sample" to the vet - especially if you suspect worms.

He is SO cute!

lol...it's too bad because I don't think we have ANYthing that's cloud-colored. His fur is short & unhealthy though so it's easy to roll up with a tape thingy. It's possible he'll have short, nappy hair instead of longer silky hairs (like Dinah's, which weave themselves into everything). So there's that.

I brought my bag of poo to the vet. It was triple-bagged...because I'm just that way. No worms. He's just underfed, poorly nourished, and stressed from being in a cage since February.

Wonderful news -- not that the wormers are much trouble, but to have nothing that isn't treatable with time and love and good food is so much better than having to pill a cat!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

What a beautiful, beautiful boy. And with those swirly markings, you're right, how could he be named anything else? :)

I know! His sides remind me of the sumi-e clouds from Okami (heh...EVERYTHING reminds me of Okami). The vet today was a Japan-phile too! He knew what Kumo meant & said it was a very appropriate name. :-) Probably he sees dozens of "Snowballs" and "Fluffys" and "Mittens" every day & he appreciates a cat name that's a little unique.

Off topic, but we picked up a copy of Okami this weekend when we were buying birthday gifts for some friends. We haven't had a chance to play, and probably won't for awhile, but I thought you would like to know that we have it for when we're ready to play it. :)

You are going to LOVE it. Love love love. I wish I could be playing it for the first time...I envy you! Let me know if you get stuck or want tips...I beat the HECK out of that game.

HALP HALP I AM STUCK ON THE SECOND RACING GAME!

Actually, I've played up to right where they're ready to go in the ark...but I'm trying to go back through before point-of-no-return to gather beads and finish mini quests, and the first race was hard but the second one has me TEARING MY HAIR OUT.

NO apologies needed. It's kind of nice tosee something happy on LJ.

*yes I complain on here too*

But it's still nice to see the change!!! XDDDDD

Heh! I feel bad for blathering on and on about the cat. I guess it's no surprise though, because everyone knows I love my animals, & getting a new kitty = getting a new family member, as far as I'm concerned.

So, kitty pics for awhile! :-) And sunshine. Because I'm full of sunshine lately. S'good.

Oh CUTE!!! I love sleepy cat pics. It goes straight to the heart. And his coloring is really pretty.
